For more images, video and to see what our expert technicians thought of this SLSHOP Assured car head to our website Principal Facts With the CL, Mercedes-Benz offered the luxury of the S-Class but with fewer doors and dare we say a lot more panache. It would dwarf the SL from that era in terms of size but even measuring more than 5 metres in length, it was never a handful neither on the move nor when it came to parking it. Launched in 1999, the second-generation CL (C215) was ahead of the curve in terms of tech, engine choices, and ultimate street presence. A thoroughly cared-for example of the C215 Mercedes-Benz CL from the year 2000, this is the V12-powered iteration presented in a near exceptional state, complete with a history file, and under 67,000 miles on the clock. The car has five former keepers, a regularly updated MoT record, and most importantly, a bunch of invoices stating the work done on it previously. Condition Synopsis Visually, the car looks ace. The bodywork is free from any major damage or rust, the panels align well (clearly as well as they'd have when the car was new more than two decades ago), and the paint looks good, too. Closer inspection will reveal some blemishes, small scratches, and some stone chips at the front. The interior is evidently well-maintained and still shows how special a flagship coupe's cabin feels. In terms of condition, the cabin appears to have aged well. Some of the plastics/buttons show superficial age-related wear, but the seats, carpet, door cards, and the dashboard, on the whole, are all in good condition. The car comes with a spare wheel and the tool kit, the boot looks clean apart, and other than a rust spot, it looks neat. The driver's seat shows some use-related marks, and as mentioned in the report, the sunroof opens in small increments, and bits like the under-seat storage and sun visors need to be replaced. Under the bonnet and on the underside, the car looks fairly clean, too. History File Registered first in 2000, this is a pre-facelift example of the Mercedes-Benz CL. It has 66,741 miles on the clock. According to the V5C, the current keeper got the car in 2021. The five-former-keeper CL has had a variety of maintenance work done to keep it in great condition. Some recent invoices document a starter motor replacement, gearbox service, oil change, new tyres, etc. The latest MoT is valid till October this year, and comes with a handful of advisories like brake pad wear and engine oil leak. SLSHOP Summary The second-generation CL has a lot to offer, not just in terms of looks and a lush cabin, but also relentless cruising ability and superb ride. It's the two-door version of the S-Class and feels like that, too. This 2000 Mercedes-Benz CL600 is in good nick, it hasn't done too many miles, and with its V12 engine, it's bound to make every drive memorable. .
