3.2 V6 4WD 1yr MOT Red Leather and Horseshoes

Sadly it’s time to say goodbye to my lovely Brera V6 . I’ve enjoyed this car for the last 5 years and contrary to all the non-Alfa owning prejudice have found it faultless and a lovely thing to drive. I feel there might be a Jaguar out there with my name on , but my wife says this has to go first.
Buy it as a nice modest rolling restoration or do nothing and just enjoy it for a year (learn to 4WD drift it round icy roundabouts, take it to an Italian gathering or two and take pot luck at the next MOT. Always worth £500 in bits alone.
Good points
Just put it in for its MOT – same local station last 4 years and another pass.
The blood and cream interior and grey paintwork – a rare and one of the best combos
Early model with Sky view roof
Four-wheel drive with a proper torsen differential – none of your cheap Audi Haldex stuff that blows a fuse mid -corner
Scrupulous history of oil changes
Horseshoe wheels
Brilliant exhaust noise
Undertray still present
New radiator fitted in my ownership
Comes with floor mats in black and a boot protector
No evidence of timing chain stretch - a light would come on.
Bad points
Cat C – (hit from behind according to owner before last). Paint crazing on the bumper supports this but no dent, I can’t find anything material underneath and have looked several times so always assumed it’s fine.
Front subframe isn’t going to last forever. They don’t and this car is no exception. You might roll it on for a few years but if it’s a keeper please budget for a new 4WD one.
Pulling away, the propshaft middle joint knocks – once running its fine – not a necessary fix but it will annoy you. See the Alfa forums they can be done by the right people.
Aircon not blowing cold – probably would recharge as it had a new compressor fitted a couple of years back.
Small split in the stitching of the front seat – leather itself is fine
Needs a new rear wiper – Allegedly unobtainium but I think a Fiat punto or similar fits
Tyres not bad (Bridgestone and Toyo) but two alloys need a refurb – they stick out slightly and get mauled on kerbs
Rotten fuel consumption – they're are all like that, Sir
Extortionate road tax – they’re all like that too, Sir
Previous owner lowered it - you might like that – I was going to get around to putting it back to standard but never did and have a pair of brand new front springs which will come with it.
Mirrors don’t adjust – suspect it’s the module in the driver’s door – Bought a s/h one on Ebay and got sent a LHD one Doh! Lost interest and so it remains one for you to fix. Mirrors still fold though.
Washing it last night saw a tiny paint crack at the top of the passenger front wheel arch - rust?
