1972 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder by Autokraft – Grigio Ferro over BordeauxA stunning example of the iconic Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder, finished in elegant Grigio Ferro over rich Bordeaux leather upholstery. Supplied new through Sidney Marcus Ltd of North London, following an order via Maranello Concessionaires, this exceptional Daytona was first registered to Mr. Kennedy, wearing the distinctive registration JGK 1. Originally delivered as a GTB/4, it began life as one of Ferrari’s most celebrated grand tourers.In January 1984, the car was acquired by Mr. Robert Jankel, founder of Panther Cars and Jankel Coachbuilding, as his personal vehicle. Shortly after purchase, Jankel commissioned CP Autokraft—renowned for producing the most accurate and faithful Spyder conversions—to carry out what would become their final of eight such transformations. These conversions were based on precise measurements from a UK-supplied factory RHD Spyder, ensuring authenticity and exacting detail. During this period, the car wore Jankel’s private registration PAN 10.By the late 1980s, the Daytona passed to a series of discerning owners including William Lo, Winston Mak, and Andrew Turner of Italian Motors, before being acquired by Mr. John Whyte in February 1988. Two further owners followed before its acquisition by the previous custodian in 2008.In 2009, the car was entrusted to Cremonini Classic in Modena, Italy, for a comprehensive bare-metal restoration, believed to have cost approximately £250,000. Mechanical works were completed by Sport Auto Modena, ensuring the car’s performance matched its impeccable presentation. Used sparingly since restoration, it received a bare-metal respray by Barkaways in 2021 to complete the restoration to concours standards.Today, this remarkable Daytona Spyder presents in superb condition throughout, enhanced further by the rare addition of factory-style air conditioning.
