VW camper 1971 RHD Dormobile cross over bay - original features restored

Highly authentic Dormobile RHD cross over bay (manufactured November 1971).

Historic vehicle (exempt from road tax and MOT) with ‘heritage letter’ from VW group.

Very low mileage. 34K miles on the clock, with only 10K miles in the last 18 years.

Full owner history from 1971 and service history since 2007.

1600cc petrol engine with twin carb conversion.

Good condition and full of character.

Original features inside but with new upholstery, Dormobile bellows and four modern seatbelts (2 front and 2 rear).

Sleeping and seating for 4 people. Comfortable rock and roll bed (modified to be full width) and 2 original roof fold out bunks. 2 original buddy seats and fold away table.

Fold away cooker with grill behind passenger seat, cold box, sink/water tank, wardrobe and cupboards all original to Dormobile D4/6 spec with original woodgrain Melamine cabinet work and surfaces.

Recent work includes new fuel tank, improved brakes, electronic ignition, immobiliser, DAB radio and good sound system.

A much loved companion on holidays and always much admired on campsites. Reluctant sale but it is time for a new family to enjoy adventures in ‘Abi’.
