Description
PRICE REDUCED FOR VERY QUICK SALE!
I'm wanting to sell the car fairly quickly, as I have the potential to purchase the car I want on the back of this sale. So I'll take offers around £4000. Too good to be true does not apply in this case. This really is a good car and it pains me to to have to sell, but it's completely impractical for our needs, hence the price reduction.

With regret, it’s time to think about selling my 2002 Mercedes CL500. This car has been well looked after over the years, with everything still functioning as new. It has a fairly low mileage for its year with only 85,000 on the clock. It is still used daily so expect it to rise slightly, although I only cover 10 miles a day.
Earlier this year, it has been treated to new tyres all round, at a cost of over £1200 with new front pads and discs too. Both have covered less than 6000 miles.
Taxed until January and MOT’d until August 2014 This year it passed with no advisories and with the nature of this car I would expect nothing less next time around.
The engine is absolutely sublime. This year it has been treated to new plugs and AFM, as the MPG was dropping slightly. This fixed the issue and believe it or not, 30 MPG is attainable on a decent run (well usually 29.7!). Currently around town I get 17 to the gallon and over the course of a tank, 22. This is all visible as per the dashboard readout.
Being one of Mercedes’ flagship vehicles, most of the spec is included as standard. However this had most of the optional extras ticked on order. To summarise it has:
Heated front electric seats with lumber support and electric headrests
Heated and electric folding mirrors
Keyless entry and go, including two key cards and two manual keys
Electric adjustable steering column
Electric rear view mirror with auto dimming and memory settings
Centre console cooler unit
Cruise control and speed limiter
Auto gear box with tiptronic gear shift
Electric folding rear headrests
Auto headlights
Auto wipers with heated water
Headlight washers
Parking sensors all round – audible and visual
Full Comand system, utilising voice commands
Climate control
Double glazed windows
Sat Nav
CD player in boot
Tape player...
TV
Phone cradle which can accept a Bluetooth unit if required
Hydraulic suspension with a more responsive sport mode and height adjustment
Traction control
AMG 19 inch wheels
Factory fitted AMG body kit
Sun roof
Soft close doors and boot
Tinted rear view screen
Removable towbar – single electrics
Full unused toolkit and spare tyre
I have all the manuals for the car and a folder from the previous owner. I’m only the 3rd owner of the car.
Obviously, being a 2002 model there are a couple of marks on the car. There are absolutely no dings or dents. Indeed, the car is always parked as far away from everything else when out and about. There is a slight scrape on the rear corner (about 3 cm), which was there when I bought the vehicle and the passenger rear arch has an inch of paint which has bubbled on the inner lip of the wheel arch. The wheels have a couple of marks on, but nothing too serious.
The car is cleaned and polished regularly, with it being treated to a full clay bar more often than not. It really is a fine example of one of the best large engine cruisers offered in recent times.
As said, I’m selling with regret. My has partner has recently given birth, so it’s time to tighten our belts and look to something (a little) more sensible.
PX considered on a well spec’d Legacy GTB.
Price: £4600 to reflect its remarkable condition.
