Description
A cherished and well-maintained B7 S4 Avant that is now in need of an enthusiast to care for him. This wonderful S4 has been my daily driver for six years and I've enjoyed every moment. It's a high specification car with a Milltek Cat-Back Non-Resonant system, which gives the 344 PS V8 a wonderful subtle growl without being in any way annoying. Standard equipment on the S4 of this year includes Avus 18" wheels, Recaro electric sports seats, Xenon Plus Headlights and a lot more. Options fitted to this car include Bose Sound System, mobile telephone prep with roof-mounted sharks fin coms module, Navigation Plus, front heated seats, aluminium roof rails and window trim, electric slide and tilt solar sunroof, 6 sp manual, gorgeous Moro Blue Pearl with very high quality Silk Nappa Leather. I have both book wallets (in excellent condition) with the original Navigation disk and disk wallet, two keys, the service key, the original Audi leather keyfob and even the period A4 / S4 prices and options booklet.
There is a comprehensive service history including the stamped book, a folder of invoices from the previous owner, and a complete history from my time with the car. This latter includes annual servicing and two new front wings fitted by the bodyshop used by Prodrive and Autofarm.
The premium-brand all-season tyres are all in good condition (two almost new) and the airconditioning is cold. Recent maintenance includes eight new Bosch platinum-tip spark plugs fitted in December 2024, a new Hitachi water-cooled alternator and rear brake pads in October 2024 (£1,664), a new windscreen in October 2024, a new offside wheel bearing in April 2024 (nearside replaced in 2021), a new Bosch power steering pump in 2023 (£878), a new Valeo (original equipment) HVAC fan in 2023, and new front pads and disks, front lower suspension arms plus a scuttle drains clean (all in August 2022).
There has also been a substantial amount of maintenance at fast Audi powertrain specialist MRC Tuning. This includes the October 2022 service (with eight new ignition coils and eight new platinum spark plugs, £1,128), the December 2023 service and the March 2025 service, just a few hundred miles ago.
I’ve spent everything necessary to keep this lovely S4 in first-rate condition and used only high-quality components, but in the past month a few faults have occurred that have encouraged me to sell rather than fix. These are 1) a vibration from the front under power that an Audi specialist suggested could be front driveshafts, 2) the rooflining is sagging at the back (see pic), 3) the beginnings of corrosion around one of the rear wheel arches (see pic). All the alloys have scuffed rims (only one quite bad) and / or lifting paint around the valve stems, there is a paint fault the size of two one penny coins on the bonnet (see pic) that was badly repaired before my time, the brightwork is going milky, and there is an area of minor scratches on a rear seat bolster (see pic). The engine is no more smoky on start-up than it was when I bought the car six years ago and pulls vigorously with a wonderful subtle growl.
