Overview
We need to be honest for a moment. Performance cars, as much as we love them, aren’t always the most practical, comfortable or usable of transportation options.
Look at most supercars and high-performance sports cars and you need the lithe, athletic frame of a ballerina to get in and out with your dignity intact, they generally ride like a bag of potatoes and the less said about storage space for actual things the better. And when it comes to reliability, well… let’s just say that with many marques, you’ll become very well acquainted with your local dealer.
Unless, however, your high-performance sports car is a Lotus Evora. Then things get weird. But in a good way. You see, the mages at Hethel somehow managed to instill the usual phenomenal Lotus brand of handling and steering feel into the Evora, but also made it ride like something altogether different. Something that one may expect to wear a certain lady on the bonnet. It is, not to put too fine a point on it, damned spooky, and deeply impressive. This would be magical enough, but they also made the thing incredibly practical (for a sports car) and even chose a brilliant V6 Toyota powertrain, so you can confidently traverse a continent or two without fear of sitting on a grassy verge, bathed in steam and regret.
You may have an inkling that we like the Evora. And you’d be right, because it’s a flipping brilliant machine. Fast, smooth, comfortable and beautifully styled, it’s a compelling package.
This particular example is a cracker too. Possessed of a stellar service record, and presented in a lovely white-over-black colour scheme, this is an awfully fine sports car, grand tourer and baby supercar all wrapped up in one pert, surprisingly capable package.
Too many people have forgotten or ignored the Evora – and we think that’s a real mistake. We reckon that, in future decades, the Evora will be recognised as one of the high watermarks in the glorious history of the marque. And when you consider how storied that history is, you’ll understand why this winsome machine excites us so much.

Lovely black leather Recaro seats, presented in fine overall condition, with a little light creasing and wear in evidence, commensurate with the car’s age and mileage
-
Specified from the factory as a two-seater – which is actually very practical as it offers a useful amount of extra luggage space (and the standard 2+2 rear seats in the Evora are unusable for most people)
-
Black carpets through the cabin show very well, with no threading or staining we could see
-
Light grey headlining looks to be secure and intact with no tears or damage, just a couple of minor marks
-
Electric windows and door mirrors
-
Air-conditioning, which was regassed in March 2025
-
Rear parking sensors and reversing camera
-
Double-Din Alpine stereo system with sat-nav

All of the cabin controls and instruments present well, showing in great condition with some light patina and blemishes from use
-
The internal trim all appears to be in good order and intact, with a small amount of the usual lift showing on the upper panels of the dashboard
-
There is a useful rear boot space, perfect for overnight bags, which is neatly trimmed in black carpet
-
The vendor tells us that everything in the cabin functions just as it should, with no faults or issues reported
Exterior
-
Handsome gloss white paintwork with black trim, which really suits the Evora and enhances the lines
-
The paintwork is in good overall condition, with a few minor blemishes and chips, but nothing that would concern us
-
The body itself comprises of a three-section composite shell with plastic front and rear bumpers – other than a small crack on the lip of the near-side front wheel arch, the bodywork looks to be in excellent condition with no notable damage
-
Paint Protection Film (PPF) is fitted to the front bumper, leading edge of the bonnet, around the wheels arches and the lower area of the rear valance
-
All of the glass elements are in fine fettle, with no misting or cracking apparent – the light lenses are similarly clean and clear
-
Integrated headlamp washers
-
The external trim and badging all looks to be complete and in good order, with nothing missing and no significant damage we could discern
-
Underneath, the car looks very clean and straight, with no obvious damage to the sills or undertrays and just a smattering of surface corrosion to some suspension components
-
Staggered (18” front and 19” rear) OEM Lotus 10-spoke forged alloy wheels, finished in metallic smoke grey
-
The alloys are in reasonably good condition, with a little bubbling and lacquer peel in places and a couple of small chips
-
A matched set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres is fitted (25/40 front and 255/35 rear), which the vendor tells us have c.3mm on the front and c.5mm on the rear

-
We’re assured that the car starts, runs and drives brilliantly, with no faults or issues reported
Summary
High-performance sports car, grand tourer or baby supercar – whatever you want to call the Evora, it’s more than capable of comfortably fulfilling the brief. When you add those fabulous looks and the build quality of that surprisingly charismatic Toyota V6 into the mix, the Evora starts to look like the answer to an awful lot of questions.
This particular example has clearly been cherished and properly maintained, but also driven and used as it should be. That’s the perfect recipe to keep a car in prime condition, and we reckon this one is a genuine gem.
It’s not often you can say any sports car, let alone a Lotus, is a no-brainer. But when it comes to satisfying the head and capturing the heart, very little comes close to the Evora.
