Description
Production of the Dino 246 GT commenced in August of 1969 after 152 units of the 206 GT had been built. The engine was enlarged to 2.4 litres and the new model also had a slightly extended wheelbase. The 65 degree V6 was transverseley mounted featured dual overhead camshafts with two valves per cylinder and wet sump lubrication. The block was cast iron with an alloy head and three twin choke Weber carburettors. Transmission was an all syncromesh five speed with a single plate clutch. The body was styled by Pininfarina with Scaglietti handling the fabrication of steel panels with the exception of the aluminium front lid. The chassis was tubular steel with alloy panels riveted in place and rack and pinion steering. Fully independent suspension all around with Koni telescopic dampers and coil springs.

Delivered by Maltin Car Concessionaires to Mr. Manning on 15th of May 1972. There is an unsubstantiated claim the car was ordered by George Harrison of The Beatles but was never collected. After little use Mr. Manning sold the car in 1976 to Mr. Ridgeway who used it on high days and weekends. The car was then sold to Mr. Millwards in late 1982 who bought it as a present for Miss Bratt. After about four months of owning the car someone unfortunately ran into her resulting in damage to the front right hand side. The car was sent to T&F Motors where Tony Furfaro comfired the damage was only skin deep and didn't damage the chassis. In 1983 the car was sold to Mr. Mottram who took on the task of rebuilding the body and once complete about a year and half later sold the car to Hendon Way Motors. Mr. Blair purchased the car from Hendon Way Motors and after a few months decided to refresh the engine bay at which time was brought to Foskers in September of 1985. Some 300 hours were spent rebuilding the engine which included pistons, valves, heads, cams, clutch, crank, gearbox, syncromesh, pumps, drive shafts, ancillaries, radiators and electrical componets. Later the same year the carpets were renewed, the seats retrimmed and the dash covered in leather. In 1988 the car was sold to Mr Archer who used the car sparingly until Talacrest aquired and sold Mr. Evans in 1997. Foskers routinely serviced the car during his ownership also going to Joe Macari in 2012 for servicing. In 2013 the car was sold through Foskers who supplied to the current owner.
