MERCEDES 250 SE 1968 Auto Very interesting indeed UK car with a dedicated owner

We are pleased to present this elegant 1968 Mercedes 250SE, a classic that exudes charm and sophistication. The car boasts a solid build and has undergone an older restoration, now in commendable condition, supported by over £30,000 in receipts for work completed. It recently passed its MOT just @200 miles ago, with no advisories. Even though it does not legally require a mot but just to be sure it had one done. Not worthy that you don’t pay congestion nor ULEZ so it’s a no brainer for London drivers to have car that looks far more then you will pay for.

This Mercedes is a pleasure to drive, offering a smooth and comfortable ride that easily keeps pace with modern traffic, thanks to its fuel injection system, four-speed automatic transmission, and power steering and brakes.

Reliability is one of its strongest attributes; it has been driven to the south of France and back without any issues. The quality of the restoration is evident, with new inner and outer wings, sills, and rear wings, having had £13,200 invested in the restoration in 1995. This was the time these cars were not even worth that yet the owner spent money no object to show his passion for this car.Following that, the vehicle was fully undersealed and has been kept in a garage throughout its life.

Significant work was carried out in 2013 to recommission the car after 15 years of storage. This included replacing all rubber hoses, resealing the fuel tank, recoring the radiator, and installing new compensating rear suspension, engine mounts, steering damper, kick-down switch, and track rod ends. The car also features a 123 electronic ignition, a stainless steel exhaust system, and a new alternator for improved performance.

Inside, a bespoke carpet set from Germany has been fitted, and all wood trim has been beautifully repolished, reflecting the care and attention this vehicle has received.

Servicing has been carried out without regard to cost by the highly regarded Mercedes specialist, Roger Edwards Motors. Comprehensive documentation is available, including all receipts for work completed from 1995 to 2024, along with several old MOT certificates. The vehicle was serviced at 98,222 miles in 2014 and again at 99,548 miles in 2016. Most recently, on 4th March 2022, it received a full oil and filter service, along with new belts and a replacement of power steering and brake fluid, performed by Birks Motorsport, all meticulously documented in the extensive service history file.

The original manuals, sales brochures, and both keys are included, making this Mercedes 250SE a truly exceptional find for any classic car enthusiast.
