EXTERIOR

The CS-only colour of Interlagos Blue looks stunning paired with the black interior. The quality of the paintwork is excellent; there are only few stone chips at the front end and the whole car has just benefited from a full detail and machine polish. As is common on this era of M3, some bubbling is visible on the door mirror mounts but otherwise it’s a very well presented example. Filling the arches are the original Competition Pack CSL-design alloy wheels, all in excellent kerb-free condition with 2024 Michelin PS5 tyres all round. The underside of the car has been inspected and remains in good order with no cracking issues to boot floor/subframe area.

INTERIOR

The black M interior is very tidy throughout with little more than a few small surface marks on the Nappa leather to report. The seat bolsters remain in excellent shape with no major wear or damage and, having never been repaired or re-connolised, the upholstery is still notably soft. Under previous ownership the steering wheel was tastefully re-trimmed by Royal Steering Wheels with the correct M stitching for a subtle OEM+ finish. A closer look at the centre console shows the switchgear to be in excellent unmarked condition, and everything works as it should including the AC. Another nice touch is the discreet touchscreen multimedia system upgrade that utilizes the original head unit so the look of the dash is unchanged despite boasting Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity. The car is further equipped with a few nice factory options including heated front seats with electric backrest width adjustment and lumbar support, the Harman/Kardon sound system, electric folding door mirrors, and an electric glass sunroof.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The mechanics of the car have just been inspected and the workshop were pleased to report a clean bill of health. The engine bay presents in very good original order with no modifications or signs of accident damage. The S54 engine performs especially well with that intoxicating straight six rasp, and paired with the SMG transmission it makes for an engaging and thrilling drive.

Over and above the usual servicing requirements the car has been treated to plenty of mechanical work within the last 1,000 miles including (but not limited to) new Powerflex rear trailing arm bushes, front brake discs and pads, power steering hoses, rear anti-roll bar droplinks, front-to-rear brake pipes, front and rear brake hoses, four new Michelin PS5 tyres, and an AC condenser. The 2022 airbag recall was also completed by Sytner BMW in Sunningdale.

HISTORY FILE

This fantastic 2006 M3 CS is one of only 241 UK-supplied E46 M3s spec’d with the sought-after Competition Package (option code ZCP) although it’s understood that 275 RHD examples were produced in total. Equipment unique to the M3 CS included 19-inch CSL-style alloy wheels, a quicker CSL steering rack, larger cross-drilled brake rotors, a special Alcantara M steering wheel with an M Track Mode setting for the DSC, and unique aluminium interior trim. Aside from the subtly upgraded multimedia system this one has never been modified so all the CS-specific bits are still present and correct. In the hands of 8 registered keepers the car has driven 81k miles from new. It has had many thousands of pounds spent on it in the last few years and the last service was an Inspection I carried out in April 2025 at 81k miles.
