Included in the restoration was extensive body and metal work repair and a full respray in Old English white, the original colour, which it wears today. JD Classics were entrusted with the engine work, the cylinder heads were removed and rebuilt along with new valves and unleaded valve seats also fitted at this time was an upgraded JD Sport ignition system. In 2010, the vendor had a JD Classic five speed close ratio gearbox fitted, and most recently (2012) the carburation was upgraded to six twin choke Weber units. Now presented in excellent condition throughout the E-Type has been dry stored and maintained and serviced where necessary. The original gearbox and Stromberg carburettors and manifolds have been retained. Having had 12 keepers from new the most recent vendor purchased the Jaguar in 2010 and has enjoyed the car as intended ever since, including a trip to the south of France. The condition of the E-Type is very good throughout, the paintwork retains a deep shine and shows little sign of age and the door shuts and panel gaps are as they should be. The interior is also in very good order, the leather is free from any rips or tears and the dashboard and dials are in sound condition, as too is the mohair hood. The engine bay and front subframe are very clean and are a testament to the extensive restoration. Fitted with various subtle upgrades this wonderful example is a very attractive proposition and comes complete with a history file containing the current UK registration document, invoices relating to the extensive restoration, and many photos of the restoration process. This is a superb example which is ready to be used immediately. The full history file and more pictures can be sent by email on request - please contact a member of our team for details.
