FERRARI 246 GT DINO
1972 Ferrari 'Dino' 246 GT
Only 34,900 miles and 1 registered owner from new
Finished in the rare colour of Ferrari Bianco Polo Park (20W.152), with Nero (161) vinyl and Rosso carpets.
Records on file show this RHD example was manufactured in 1971 and delivered to UK market importer Maranello Concessionaires for their dealer Sytner of Mapperly, Nottingham on December 1971 and subsequently registered to its one and only registered keeper on 11th April 1972.
Acquired by a specialist dealer & collector just over 10 years ago the car was immediately sent to renowned Ferrari specialist Foskers for appraisal. It was confirmed to be possibly the most original example they had had in the workshop for many years, and pronounced in good mechanical order with just some routine work carried out.
it was reported that the car at this stage had never been repainted and a paint specialist was consulted to asses the paintwork. It was concluded that the car was reading mostly in the region of 270 microns as would be expected of factory paint. The decision was made to repaint the car as the 40+ year old paint was no longer looking perfect. The car was duly stripped and repainted with special attention given to the thickness of the new paint. The result was within 50 microns of the original paint! Needless to say the finish is beautiful.
The car is highly original in every other aspect, the interior in particular is unmolested and as it left the factory.
Following this programme of work the vehicle was exhibited at the highly prestigious Salon Prive Concours d'elegance.
There are numerous MOT's and tax discs on file and paperwork dating back to the order form.
Another example such as this would surely be almost impossible to find.
