EXTERIOR

The Z3M roadster design is a triumph of the traditional long bonnet sports convertible design. With wider rear arches, deep dish wheels and quad tailpipes the car certainly fits the muscle car profile although BMW do reference the past with those elegant chrome side vents reminiscent of the 507 roadster.

Finished in Arctic Silver and retaining it’s original coat from factory the car is near concours with our in-house team applying the finishing touches to a quite wonderful original example.

INTERIOR

The Individual two-tone leather sports seats are in excellent condition and remain free from any sagging or damage, still feeling firm and supportive.

A smart black and blue combination offers layers of depth in contrast to the paintwork – carried through to the door cards and centre console all of which is in fine order with no scuffs or marks; in fact it looks and smells like new. The chrome additions to dials, gear gaiter, dash rings and light pull switch provide a stylish lift to a beautifully finished cabin with all switchgear feeling solid to operate and showing minimal wear.

All of the tools and spare wheel are still present, situated under the boot carpet which remains spotlessly clean.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Start up and test are faultless, with the venerable inline 6 providing plenty of torque to ensure that the car is as happy at cruise as climbing the revs – a perfect compliment to the long ratio 5 speed ‘box and the handling characteristics of this potent sports roadster.

The ZF Type C 5-speed manual gearbox feels tight and precise shifting through the gears, handling the power perfectly.

With North Oxford BMW providing the car in March of 2000, this Roadster has returned to the supplying dealer on 12 occasions for routine servicing to ensure the car performs as it should.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

This M sits on the correctly finished 17″ Starfish wheels with the deep rear dish on the rear providing that typically broad, aggressive stance. The alloys are shod in a matching set of Dunlop SP Sports with plenty of tread remaining.

The brakes feel strong and confident bringing the car to a standstill quickly and smoothly.

HISTORY FILE

Registered in early 2000, this exceptional Z3 M would remain with it’s first owner for 20 years before North Oxford, the supplying dealer, sold the car again via their approved used cars scheme!

Every invoice, MOT and inspection is accounted for from day one with a folder full of paperwork covering the car’s every move. Even all of the tax disks are present and correct.
