EXTERIOR
Resplendent in the Gen 2 launch colour of Grey Black with red decals the philosophy behind the RS nomenclature remains true to form with lightweight centre lock wheels, a huge carbon wing and plenty of aerodynamic assistance – all resulting in the ultimate in performance. Presentation of the car is fantastic with the whole car pleasingly still in its factory coat having never had any paintwork in its life.
With full PPF applied this gives the car a fresh layer, keeping the paintwork in pristine order. With no further visible imperfections the Grey black and contrasting red finish is radiant, with a deep and even shine from almost every angle.
INTERIOR
Specified with swathes of leather, alcantara and carbon fibre the cabin of this GT3 RS exudes a purposeful track edge but with a hint of luxury. The carbon fibre inserts separate the black finish that line the glove box and lower dash – matched by the alcantara steering wheel, handbrake and gear surround. Condition of the contact points is superb, free from any signs of major wear its clear that this has been a very well cared for example.
The specification of this car gives the best of both worlds; whilst the red roll cage make the car track ready, optional cruise control and Bluetooth means it can be comfortably driven home after a solid session at the track.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
True to form the RS engine fires into life and settles with a familiar rattle coming from the lightweight flywheel. Paired to an exquisite 6-Speed manual gearbox the 997 is definitely the purists choice, with a level of driver engagement way ahead of its contemporaries.
Mechanically the car wants for nothing having been service solely by OPC’s since new. As part of our inspection a fresh rev range check has been carried out and resulted in no over-revs showing from ranges 1-6.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The lightweight centre lock designed wheels are in perfect unmarked condition wrapped, their vibrant red finish perfectly contrasting the Grey paintwork above. All four wheels are shod in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres with plenty of tread.
The brakes remain in excellent condition – Porsche’s mighty PCCB system ready for B road blast and track work alike.
