Opel Manta A Series
Features:
Now this is a really cool old car with good history. Opel Manta A Series Berlinetta. It was first registered on 13/9/1974 in the Scottish Borders with the first owner , located in Duns. He kept the car till 1981 and sold it to the second owner who has kept, loved and maintained the car for the last 44 years. We bought it from the second owner as he decided he was no longer using it enough and it was time to let someone else take care of it. We have the V5 with the car showing 1 previous owner, 28 old MOTS. Its still currently MOTd till April 2026. The last owner maintained it himslef during the course of his ownership. It underwent a bit of a restoration in 2007 , including a bare metal respray. At some point in its life its also had a few sensible upgrades as listed in the description below. Body - Manta A Series. Very solid old car which had a light restoration in 2007 we are told. Currently it all looks solid underneath, underbonnet and in boot.Sills, rear arches are all good. Small bit of bubbling on very bottom of drivers side wing but otherwise all good. Paintwork looks lovely considering it was done nearly 20 years ago. This is the cars original colour. When it was repainted it was taken back to bare metal. We have a folder of photos of the paintwork, which come with the car. Vinyl roof is the original dark blue one. Car has had a period sunroof fitted many years ago. Mechanics - Upgraded to a 2 litre engine BVH with fuel injection and five speed gearbox, all from a Manta GTE. It has B Series brake calipers, Spax adjustable shocks, stainless steel exhaust, front calipers and pads renewed fairly recently, brake master cylinder seals renewed. The car drives very well for its age with no dramas. Its only covered about 5000 miles in the last 20 years and has been stored in a nice dry garage. Interior - Front seats have been upgraded to GTE Recaros, rest of the Interior appears standard apart from the addition of an oil pressure gauge. No rips or tears. Very nice car insideWheels - Revolution Alloys with good tyres. This was a very well looked after and fairly well known car in Central Scotland. With the modifications it may not be for the purists but it makes it much more useable in modern traffic. And what a great history.........You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.Any questions please ask or call 07879 557668.Thanks for looking
