1990 BMW 3 SERIES

BMW E30 Convertible with C27 Alpina Engine. Finished In Cirrus Blue Metallic with navy blue hood & blue leather interior.

First registered 01/08/1990, started life as a 320i.

I purchased the car in August 2015 with around 107k on the clock.

It has the original folder with handbook and stamped service book up to 81k miles.

The engine was in mint condition but I yearned for the grunt of the 2.5lt.

In 2021 I approached Steve Guglielmi of Guglielmi Motorsport fame. An ex BMW main dealer technician back in the day, his knowledge of this model is second to none. We discussed various conversions before settling on the C27 Alpina block that he had on the shelf!.

I’m not technically minded so put myself in his hands for the complete engine build which was done between Knight Engine Services & Guglielmi Motorsport Ltd.

The engine is in essence an M20 C27 2.7 Alpina with 325i head with all new parts including pistons, complete bottom end, camshaft, rockers, valves etc, etc……

It has a 325i gearbox with new clutch & flywheel. 325i prop shaft with new centre bearing & doughnut.

E30 M3 differential with LSD

325i ECU & airflow meter reset for increased capacity.

Uprated Eibach anti-roll bars.

New stainless steel downpipe back exhaust system by MIJ

New battery fitted in 2023

Plenty of photos of engine build.

The rest of the car is all stock with no fancy body kits or lowering springs.

Original BBS alloys in very good original condition with excellent rubber to all 4.

The paintwork is very good although not perfect. No repairs to bodywork during my ownership. I decided to leave the slight blemishes rather than ruin the car with an unnecessary re-spray. Chrome work is in excellent condition.

More importantly, the car has no rust whatsoever & appears to have been waxoyled from new.

The roof has been replaced at some point & the rear window is in excellent condition.

The interior is in very good condition with no cracks to the dash & only slight wear to the drivers seat bolster. The passenger seats are hardly worn in.

There is a retro Alpine cassette head unit with CD multi changer in the boot & classic 80’s electric aerial.

The car will be sold with a full MOT & oil service.

Current mileage is around 111k but may go up slightly if the sun shines.

In all honesty this a unique example of a very desirable & appreciating classic.

Since the engine build she’s only covered around 1500 miles which is a real shame.

We now have a camper, so when the sun shines that gets used while the BMW sits in the garage.

Currently insured with agreed valuation of £19K.
