ROVER P5 B
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2025 on Sunday the 24th of August, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.
First registered in 1968, this Rover P5 B Saloon was originally supplied by Henly’s Limited, London, to the editor of Headlight, the lorry driver's magazine, with the registration number JK 21
Following the editor’s passing, the car was placed in a heated garage in 1978, where it remained untouched until 2018. That year, it was registered to his nephew, the original number plate was removed and the 3.5-litre Buick-derived V8 engine underwent a comprehensive rebuild
The vehicle was then sold to its current owner, who has since carried out further restoration work, including the installation of a new gearbox, new suspension, uprated radiator, stainless steel exhaust and new carpets throughout
Presented in striking Admiralty Blue over a Buckskin interior, the car features a rear bench seat and heated rear window
Today, this exceptional Rover has covered under 34,000 miles from new and comes with a detailed history file. Documentation includes the original purchase correspondence, a Headlight magazine feature, and a Daily Express article
A true head-turner in its day, this P5 B remains a standout classic and is sure to attract admiring glances wherever it goes
