1998 ELDON

For sale is my Eldon Roadster powered by a 4.8 litre Rover V8 built by John Eales (JE Developments). With 350bhp and 365 lb ft of torque in a car weighing 650-700 kg you have over 500 bhp/tonne and the equipment to humble supercars. Engine was last rebuilt by JE Developments 2022, it has had 6 hours of track running since rebuild - a full log is available.

This car was originally designed by F1 Arrows engineer Steve Amos. I used to race against this car under it's previous owner/builder (both formidable opponents) in the 750MC Kit car series then bought the car in 2007 and developed it substantially from its original race spec. It is road registered, MOT'able but has lived on track its entire life. It was originally prepared to 750MC kit car technical regulations so has full race and safety preparation. Mileage is estimated at (up to) 25k as it runs a Stack dash and has no mileage recording.

The 4.8l Rover V8 engine is a crowd pleaser at track days with quad Weber downdraft carbs and the most beautiful sound through its 4 into 1 twin stainless steel exhausts with race catalytic converters both sides. Static noise is c 102db. It has a Getrag 5-speed close ratio dogleg gearbox (rare) from an M5, Alcon twin-plate racing clutch, double wishbones, ATR mono-tube shocks, coil-overs and adjustable anti-roll bars all-round, Image split-rim wheels, Sierra diff with (rare 3.14 I believe) final drive and Titan LSD.

I have just completed a refresh of the car with new front hubs (earlier cast items were a weak point), new front rotors, DS3000 pads, new battery and new Toyo R888R tyres all round. A detailed technical sheet is available covering all aspects of the car - there is far too much to list here. Car comes with registration documents and detailed receipts / purchase history including JE Developments work worth over £14k.

Spares and tools include: Yokohama A048R tyres (many track days use left), Racelogic 720p twin camera system, various suspension components, nose cone, ignition coils, unused Holley 125GPH and Facet fuel pumps, spare differential (non-LSD with 3.38 final drive), spare drive shafts, springs, exhaust silencer packaging, replacement oil and filters, assorted hoses, cables, storage boxes, Kenlowe 14" electric fan, full tool set, engine hoist and engine stand.

To say this is a reluctant sale is a huge understatement but I am preparing to downsize and leave the country so it must go. The car comes with a 4 wheel braked trailer, substantial spares package and all the tools I've used to upgrade and maintain the car. The car will suit an experienced track driver who has the time and resources to maintain it. This package provides everything needed to get on track with an extremely fast car. Try somewhere like Silverstone full GP circuit and you'll be surprised how many world-leading marques you'll be able to mix it with.
