1990 TVR TASMIN

1990 400SE in Monza Red.

MOT ran out during COVID (2020) and it’s not moved since apart from out of the garage to get at bits. It is SORN.

Last service was the same time as the last MOT, April 2019. It is SORN so no test drive. The garage also specialised in geometry setup so it had a setup done as well, as per TVR spec.

128,895 miles. It has a 4.2 litre that was fitted by a previous owner that failed so fully rebuilt by DJE just after I bought it in 2001 and set up with a Hotwire, mileage was 81,856 miles at rebuild (47,039 on the new engine). All oil changes as per DJE recommendations, around 3k miles.

Stainless ACT standard exhaust (not the manifolds).

Body in reasonable condition for a 35-year-old car, one front corner damage repair.

Soft top is in good condition. It is watertight with the correct seals in place. It has always been garaged so rear see-through on soft top is good. Also has a cover for boot storage.

It does start and moves but misses, it has stood for a while, last drive out it was running fine, parked up then lock down hit. I did expect a fresh MOT and service with no issues but covid stopped that. Revs up reasonably OK but the missing is an issue, feels like it wants to go.

Clutch master cylinder fluid was down, topped up but unable to diagnose. No apparent leak in footwell.

Heater matrix disconnected. Not sure if a leak or bad connection.

Cooling will need attention (Usually OK but new fan controller not installed, override switch at the moment as otter switch blanked off as it was always weeping)

Call for full details and issues but it will have to go on a low loader as I cannot MOT it.

Numerous bits to go with it if they are wanted. Spare lights clusters, pipes and such.

Most receipts since owning and few from previous to me.
