I purchased this car in June 24 after selling my Liquid yellow 200 at the beginning of the same year. I instantly regretted selling it as soon as spring arrived so set about finding a replacement. However, this time I wanted the genuine no frills cup without all the mod cons as It’s sole purpose was a weekend toy. I have zero interest in keyless start, cruise control or auto wipers after all they are drivers car so a lightweight driver focused cup it had to be. The car is in fantastic condition having had PPF applied from new. However, after 15 years parts of it had started to lift & dirt had gotten behind the edges so my OCD took control & I set about removing it aside from the bonnet as that was in perfect order. Underneath the film the paintwork in unmarked inc the headlights that were also wrapped it looks like brand new at the front end. The car is HPI clear & never been involved in any accidents it still retains the Renault etched glass all around. The Speedline alloys are also unmarked having been refurbished last autumn in satin black & they are fitted with the excellent Michelin Pilot sport 4 tyres with around 6mm tread.
Mechanically the car is in great order having been serviced by the previous owner in Sept 23 to inc coolant change, gear box oil change whilst having new cup shocks on the front. In addition to this the car had a cambelt water pump & aux belt changed around the same time using all genuine Renault parts. In April 25, the car went into my local specialist Sean Edwards Renault for an MOT and oil & filter service. Whilst there I had them fit my new discs & pads to the front & rear I purchased from Kam racing. The ABS rings were changed on both sides as a precaution whilst the brakes were being done as these are a known fault. The MOT picked up a crack in one of the front springs so I had them order a pair of genuine cup springs from Renault. I also had them change the top mounts at the same time as it made sense. A new washer pump was also fitted as noted on the MOT. The invoices for the above totalled £1400.

The car is completely unmodified as it left the factory other than it’s had a set of pure motorsport stub axles spacers to the rear. There are no black badges, limo tints or go faster bits so it’s a very rare find to see a survivor like this. Inside is superb with the Recaro’s have very minimal wear on the drivers bolster with the passenger seat being perfect. There is no damage to any of the plastics or the carpets again testament to previous ownership. There are no unwanted creaks or rattles inside that are synonymous with French hatchbacks & everything works. The gentleman I purchased the car from was also a mature chap & was also a Renaultsport enthusiast who works on these cars in his spare time. He knows the 200's inside out & completed a pre sale appraisal for me. I’m also a Renaultsport fan with this being my 5th Clio to inc a Williams 2 a182 trophy 3 200s. My first 200 was an alien green example I purchased brand new from Renault Birmingham back in 2009, a car I wish I had never sold but the lure of a Mk1 Focus Rs was too much. The car has been driven sensibly & not thrashed around like so many have, this is reflected in the cars condition. I have most if not all of invoices dating back to new a fully stamped up to date service book & all the Renault documentation from new.
For those unfamiliar with the genuine cup version, I’ve listed below what the car comes with to differentiate it from a standard Clio 200 with a cup pack.
• Door handles rubbing strip & wing mirrors black plastic not colour matched
• Fog lights removed from front bumper
• A key instead of a key card & keyless entry.
• Cup badges on B pillars
• Manual heater controls no climate control
• No Aircon
• No steering wheel controls for cruise control
• Manual mirrors
• Black textured dash & door cards instead of soft touch plastics.
The car wants for nothing other than a new owner who will keep it in the same original condition as it has been for the last 16 years. I’m in no rush to sell & will not entertain buyers who want to turn it into a track car it’s way too good for that.
Genuine reason for sale.
