This beautiful May 2010 example finished in timeless Arctic Silver metallic has been serviced at OPC Porsche Main Dealers and maintained correctly throughout its life including PDK servicing, spark plugs, drive belts/tensioner, brake fluid, renewal of coolant crossover pipes and air conditioning condensers. The last owner had the fantastic Apple/Android CarPlay system installed into the original PCM 3.0, along with a reversing camera to supplement the factory rear parking sensors. The 3.6 litre Flat-6 PDK has 340bhp and benefits from the cheaper road tax of £415 instead of £710, all other 997.2 models attract the higher annual tax charge. The 911 Carrera comes fitted with the rear mounted 3.6 litre flat six engine that produces 340bhp and propels the rear wheel drive sportscar to 60mph in around 4.9 seconds. The 997 generation 2 cars do not suffer the potential problems of early 997 generation 1 cars, such as IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Background Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Carrera began in mid 2008, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection DFI which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management PCM 3.0 System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation for UK and Europe. The generation 2 cars also do not suffer all of the potential problems of early 997 gen 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Exterior

Our hand selected Porsche 911 Carrera looks stunning in its metallic coat of Arctic Silver, a timeless colour for the 997.2, especially with the red LED rear lights. The metallic silver 19-inch Carrara S II wheels are the perfect pairing to the paintwork. This 911 Carrera is particularly special because it was specified with the lightweight Aluminium Doors, rather than Steel Doors that most Carrera models came with, these Aluminium doors are standard on 911 models such as the flagship Turbo, GT3 and GT2. The paintwork condition is excellent. The 911 Carrera has been machine polished and waxed with Autofinesse Soul Carnauba Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. Prior to this the whole car was treated to Gtechniq by a Porsche main dealer. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. The rear lights were replaced by a OPC Porsche Main Dealer in June 2021 under warranty. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should.

Interior

The 911 Comes with full leather comfort seats that have the optional Porsche Crest Embossed Headrests, 2-stage seat heating and electric backs. All of the Black interior leathers are in excellent condition and provide a perfect contrast to the Arctic Silver bodywork. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim parts, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout. The last owner had the fantastic Apple/Android CarPlay system installed into the original PCM 3.0, along with a reversing camera to supplement the factory rear parking sensors. The steering wheel is also the ultimate Sport Design item with a thicker leather rim, full size metal PDK shift levers and Drive Mode display.

Engine and Transmission Our 911 Carrera is equipped with the 3.6 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Carrera engine produces 340bhp and 288ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running.

The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes

Our 911 Carrera comes fitted with the optional 19-inch Carrera S II lightweight alloy wheels finished in metallic silver, which are free of damage. The brakes are phenomenal, with Black callipers and PORSCHE lettering in white, cross drilled and vented discs front and rear with plenty of life left in them. The tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Porsche N2-rated high performance tyres, with plenty of tread left on them.

The car is HPI clear and comes complete with 6 months warranty and roadside/home assistance, which can be extended up to 2 years.
