2000 CATERHAM

Regrettably for sale due to the need to fund other projects, this much-loved Caterham 7 VHPD Roadsport has had just three careful owners over its 25-year life. Originally built in 2000 by a British Airways engineer and 747 captain, it has covered only 10,600 dry-weather miles and has been garaged throughout its life. During my ownership it has always been laid up during the winter on axle stands with the fuel tank filled with Porsche Classic Fuel Additive to provide full corrosion prevention to the fuel system.

Meticulously maintained, it has received regular oil changes and sump baffle replacements—the most recent in 2024 with LiquiMoli oil. It's fitted with an Accusump oil accumulator system, ensuring oil pressure is available before ignition on cold starts, helping to protect the engine long-term and it is fitted with a year-old Banner battery.

The seats were professionally re-upholstered in 2023 by Caterham’s official seat supplier. The (non-cat) engine was originally dyno-tested at 195 bhp (dyno sheet included in the history file)—more than enough to keep things thoroughly engaging. It was factory-specified with Caterham’s uprated AP Racing brakes, limited-slip differential, heater, electrically heated windscreen, and immobiliser.

The car is finished in a beautiful shade of Jaguar Sherwood Metallic Green, complemented by the classic Lotus yellow stripe and nose band.

Writing this advert has reminded me just how much I’ll miss this special car—but it’s time for it to be enjoyed by its next loving owner.

It comes complete with two sets of keys and a year’s MOT.
