1985 MAZDA RX-7 FB

Roll up roll up, welcome to the sale of my 1985 Mazda RX7 FB, brain child of Matasaburo Maeda.

12A two rotor engine always been run with 2-stroke in the fuel to preserve the rotor tips, with HIF6 SU carbs. The conversion from Solex was done by a previous owner around 2010. The engine had a full rebuild in 2019, less than 4,000 miles ago by Hayward Rotary. An aftermarket gear shifter and stainless steel exhaust has also been fitted. Full interior in good condition.

Carbs rebuilt with new seals all around, and a choke fitted in 2022. Last full service including engine oil change, new spark plugs and oil and fuel filters, and gearbox oil change in May 2024.

In the last 6 months it’s had new front callipers, full brake system bleed, and since awareness from it’s last MOT, new front springs and rear left calliper rebuild. (I kept the old front calliper’s and springs for reconditioning because parts are not easy to get a hold of)

The car runs beautifully, no mechanical issues.

The under side has been coated and sealed and I don’t take it out in poor weather, I doubt you will find another FB this solid. Only issues are cosmetic, being some slight surface rust around the some of the wheel arches and missing trim on the drivers side.

Comes with a spare rear spoiler and a set of 4 Lotus Éclat wheels (new tyres are needed)

It is a wonderful classic, and with it coming up to 40 years old (Jan 09th) it will soon be tax and MOT exempt. It had a fresh 12 months MOT done which lasts until 03/04/2026. I have loved being custodian of this classic for the last few years and have had some excellent times with it, including completing a classic tour in 2023, but have since got two dogs and bought a campervan to go away in, hence sadly the RX7 has to go.
