We are delighted to present this rare & collectable Mk5 VW Golf GTI Pirelli Edition, finished in the ever popular Diamond Black. Produced in strictly limited numbers, just 222 examples were made, making this one of the rarest GTi’s of its generation.

Built to celebrate Volkswagen’s long-standing partnership with Pirelli, this special edition closed out Mk5 GTI production with uprated performance, bespoke styling details & a unique interior.

History

First released in early 2005, the Mk5 Golf GTi was a hit from the beginning. Bringing style & power to the hot hatch market in a way that only VW can.

The Pirelli Edition benefits from various upgrades over a standard GTi, including (but not limited to):

Body & Paintwork

Finished in Diamond Black, the paintwork presents very well, with a deep gloss & sharp reflections that highlight the GTI’s iconic lines. (The car will be having a single stage machine polish as part of its sales preparation too).

Subtle but distinctive styling details set the Pirelli Edition apart, including the unique 18” Pirelli alloy wheels, body coloured front splitter, side skirts & rear valance, smoked rear light lenses, tinted rear windows & the discreet Pirelli boot badge.

Together these touches give the car a purposeful yet understated presence that marks it out as something very special within the Mk5 GTI range.

The only change to the bodywork is a black VW emblem on the front grill, the original silver item will of course come with the car.

Interior & Trim

Inside, the Pirelli Edition is instantly recognisable.

Distinctive half-leather heated sports seats feature the unique San Remo Alcantara tyre-tread design inserts & Pirelli logos embossed into the headrests.

Contrast yellow stitching runs across the seats, sports steering wheel, gear shift & handbrake lever, further elevating the cabin.

Everything remains in very good condition throughout, with all switchgear, dials & trim in full working order.

UK Speedometer has been fitted & set to the correct mileage – the original speedometer is still with the vehicle too.

Engine

At its heart lies the enhanced 2.0-litre T-FSI engine which it shares with the Edition 30. Producing 227BHP, up from the standard GTI’s 197BHP, performance is transformed, with 0–60mph dispatched in 6.4 seconds & a top speed of 152mph.

Paired with Volkswagen’s slick-shifting six-speed DSG gearbox, the Pirelli Edition offers a driving experience that balances everyday usability with genuine hot-hatch performance.

The engine in this example runs beautifully, having been regularly maintained & benefitting from a recent cambelt & water pump replacement.

Running Gear

The Pirelli Edition sits on uprated suspension derived from the Edition 30, sharpening handling without compromising comfort.

Braking performance is strong & assured, the chassis feels tight, precise & responsive, reminding you why the Mk5 GTI is considered a modern icon.

Obviously being a Japanese import, the underside is in outstanding condition with factory markings still visible on suspension arms.
