2007 Ford

This is my one of a kind MK 1 Ford SportKa. This site doesn't seem to recognise this version of the Ka range so I hope readers will not be confused. It is a factory SportKa.

MOT 26 January 2026. I became the second owner in 2018.

I bought a performance kit from a racing driver in South Africa called Steve Wyndham which he was producing especially for the SportKa which was a revised camshaft and 421 manifold. The latter has been mated to a bespoke stainless steel system with a sport catalytic converter and as you can see it exits where the car's central reverse light would be. The car now has hidden LED reverse lights.

This car was a pet project of mine; I just wanted to create an unusual 'Fast Ford'. And it is quick! It's obviously very light and adding this to the factory suspension set up it's really like a being in a gokart. The exhaust pops and crackles and really sounds... like a proper, old-school performance car. It's been on a rolling road which shows 115 bhp which is very much up on the factory quote of something like 96.

It has its rust issues as you can see, but it could be a lot worse. Some has been treated. I painted the underside with blue Hammerite smooth paint which actually looks pretty good and should offer some protection going forward. There is a replacement fuel cap panel and NOS flap to come with the car. There are also sundry factory items including the rear seats, seat belts, rear boot tray.....

There are two keys and plenty of paperwork to show servicing, repairs and so on. It's had its engine and transmission oil changed at last MOT. It also has one brand new and one nearly new Continental tyres on the front. And a new battery this year.
