Superformance GT40P/2048 – Le Mans Coupes GT40

The GT40 hardly needs an introduction. It’s one of the most celebrated race cars in history — a Le Mans legend that dominated endurance racing and still turns heads today. The MKI is special: the original chapter of the GT40 story and the car that returned to the spotlight after the MKII and MKIV had their day in the sun.

Chassis GT40P/2048 gives you the chance to step into that story. There are no driver aids, no electronics taking control — just you and the car. Every input counts, every corner feels alive. It’s the kind of driving that makes you remember why you fell in love with cars in the first place.

History and Build

Le Mans Coupes first imported Superformance GT40s to the UK in 2008. Since then, we’ve built and supplied almost 60 cars, both road and race spec, and handled many on the pre-owned market. This example was built to combine the features our clients love with a few touches we wanted for ourselves.

It’s listed in the GT40 World Registry and built to a high standard — a car that’s ready to drive, enjoy, and show.

On the Road

The 427ci V8 pulls hard and sounds incredible. Gear changes through the Quaife ’box are crisp and satisfying. The chassis feels planted, balanced, and responsive. Inside, it’s purposeful enough for a track day but comfortable enough for a long road trip.
