EXTERIOR

Presented in stunning Crystal Grey Metallic, this rare S204 looks fantastic against our studio backdrop. In line with the very low mileage of only 22k, the paintwork is excellent with a great shine across every panel. All the signature S204 details are present and correct including the carbon fibre front lip, silver mesh front grille, boot spoiler, and model-specific badging. The original 18-inch BBS forged alloys complete the purposeful stance and remain in superb condition with no major kerb marking or age-related wear. The headlights are clear with no discolouration and, having resided on the salt-free roads of Japan from new until 2024, the underside of the car is also notably tidy.

INTERIOR

Inside, the S204 delivers a focused yet refined driving environment. The factory carbon fibre Recaro bucket seats, trimmed in Alcantara and leather, are firm and supportive with only the lightest of wear to the grey centre panels and a small amount of discolouration to the STI embroidery. The leather steering wheel and interior plastics are all very well presented, original STI floor mats are retained in the footwells, and even the door sill trims are still protected by their blue factory coverings. Purposeful Defi gauges offer the driver plenty of additional feedback, and the aluminium shift gaiter surround shows this car to be number 161 of only 600 individually numbered S204s. The rear seats have clearly seen little use and the boot area is clean.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

At the heart of the S204 is Subaru’s 2.0-litre EJ20 flat-four. Tuned to 320ps with a bespoke ECU, uprated turbocharger, and titanium exhaust system, the S204 delivers an exceptionally responsive and linear powerband. Out on the road this example feels just as tight as you’d expect from such low mileage, and mechanically it benefits from an excellent Japanese service history, confirming careful maintenance throughout its life. The engine bay appears very original and unmodified with no signs of accident damage or previous poor repair.

HISTORY FILE

Produced in a limited run of only 600 units and developed exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (JDM), the S204 is one of Subaru’s most driver focused road-going models. This example was imported from Japan in 2024 with condition grade 4.5B – a testament to its excellent original condition. It has driven only 22,431 miles (36,100 km) from new and it’s accompanied by an excellent maintenance history (listed below) with the correct Impreza/STI handbooks, Japanese service and export documents, an original S204 sales brochure, spare remote key, and the current V5C registration document showing 0 former UK keepers.
