The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Track Series

The AMG GT Track Series is an exclusive special model that has been systematically developed for use on the racetrack. With this vehicle, which is limited to just 55 units, Mercedes-AMG is celebrating the 55th anniversary of the brand and at the same time making a clear statement for uncompromising performance. The technical basis is the AMG GT Black Series, but the Track Series goes a significant step further. Under the bonnet is the familiar 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with a flat crankshaft, which has been increased to 734 hp and 850 newton metres of torque. Power is transmitted via a carbon shaft that rotates in a torsion-resistant torque tube and is coupled to a sequential six-speed racing gearbox. Thanks to its optimised lightweight construction, the Track Series saves over 200 kilograms compared to the Black Series, bringing the car to 1,400 kilograms. The design also emphasises the focus on maximum driving dynamics. A large front splitter, the elongated bonnet with central air outlet, the striking radiator grille and the powerful rear wing not only ensure an aggressive look, but above all optimum downforce and aerodynamics at high speeds. Safety is a top priority. The Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series features a carbon fibre safety cell firmly attached to the chassis, five-point harness, safety net, fire extinguishing system and a motorsport safety tank. This package is complemented by a multi-adjustable traction control system and adjustable ABS with individual brake balance. The cockpit is ergonomically modelled on the GT3 and GT4 racing cars and is protected by a high-strength roll cage.

Exclusivity is not only reflected in the limited edition, but also in the special customer service. Owners of the GT Track Series receive the same privileges as the official AMG Customer Racing Teams. According to the manufacturer, this includes personalised trackday support, a technical hotline and a fast spare parts service. This ensures that the vehicles are always ready for use and are looked after at the highest level. The equipment includes forged AMG light-alloy wheels with slick tyres, adjustable motorsport dampers and a high-downforce diffuser. In addition, the car is equipped with a large 120 litre safety tank to ensure reliable operation even during long stints on the racetrack. The interior is dominated by carbon fibre elements and racing technology, complemented by digital displays and a special AMG steering wheel. Each car also bears a badge with the inscription ‘1 of 55’, documenting its exclusivity. The vehicle is clearly aimed at a group of collectors and trackday enthusiasts who are looking for an uncompromising vehicle for use on the racetrack. With the GT Track Series, AMG creates a bridge between road-legal super sports cars and professional racing cars. The model epitomises the brand's philosophy of constantly improving the best and bringing it to the racetrack.
