Now for sale is my pristine condition, no expense ever spared, Honda Civic FN2 Type R GT, face-lift model, in Alabaster Silver.
I have owned the car since 2017 when it had just 24,000 miles on it, have never taken it on a track and have only ever used Shell V Power fuel and Castrol edge oil from day one.
My vision was to make the car look and drive better than the day it rolled out of the factory, whatever the cost, as i love the shape. I think i have achieved that. It looks great and drives amazingly well, with many subtle modifications that have made a huge difference to the overall driving experience, both inside and outside the car. It drives like a new car and has been the most reliable vehicle i have ever owned.
It has a full service history with a fresh service completed only 3 days ago, specifically for sale, with all receipts and photos to show completion.
A fresh, clean MOT with no advisories was completed yesterday 08-09-2025, again prior to sale.
This car has been my project and passion since the day i bought it and i had no intention of ever selling it. Unfortunately last year i suffered a life changing injury, which now makes getting in and out of the driver seat very painful. I am gutted, but hope that someone will enjoy driving it the same way i have for so many years. As you will see from the service and MOT mileage, i have only done around 2,000 miles this year as a result.
I will not spend time listing all the factory standard options, as these can be found anywhere, on any FN2 advert, so i will just list the most major works that have been completed on my vehicle, hopefully making it stand out from others.
I have spent over £30,000 on this car since owning, with invoices to provide on sale, making it one of the cleanest, best maintained, rust free examples you will find anywhere.
This is the facelift 2009\2010 model with factory Xenon headlights, which i have upgraded with 6000k white Xenon bulbs. Also 6000k LED sidelight bulbs have been fitted, together producing amazing, clear white light, making the car far safer to drive at night, plus looks far more modern. As the GT model of course it also benefits from headlight washers.
Also equipped is dual zone climate control, with a new condenser fitted just over a year ago providing very cold air in hot weather.
Front fog lights are fitted, also housing 6000k white LED bulbs for optimum light output.
Automatic rain sensing wipers along with automatic headlights and cruise control are also fitted. Finally, power folding mirrors are also part of the GT package, with both solenoids being replaced so both work perfectly.
Starting with the exterior upgrades, front to back :
I treated the car to a full respray in original Alabaster Silver at Uncle Keith's Paint Shop - Dynodaze, do to lots of stone chips on the front end, common with Honda paint being very thin. This vehicle is featured on YouTube showing the whole process, aswell as listing many of the new parts i also had fitted at the same time. This work was only completed 2yrs ago, so is still as good as new and far thicker and stronger that original factory Honda paint.
Paintwork has also had a GTechniq Crystal Serum Light Ceramic Coating, professionally applied by Autotrilogy only last year. This coating has certification and a 5yr guarantee and has made the paintwork look incredible at all times.
Custom colour coded front grill, with new red H and Type R badge were also fitted during the respray.
Brand new factory Honda light units have been fitted all round. Headlights, rear lights, indicators. All lights, front and rear, have been retrofitted with LED bulbs for a far more modern look and better visibility. Even indicators have been upgraded to LED, front and rear, with no hyperflash issues common with many LED indicator upgrades. Wing mirror indicator units have been upgraded to Black LED sequential units, giving a very modern look. I have kept the original Honda wing mirror clear indicator units, which will come with the car should you wish to change them.
I have had the car fully undersealed by Dynodaze and is now in "as new" condition.
Rocker cover fully painted by Uncle Keith's Paint Shop - Dynodaze, during valve clearance checks at 75,000 miles.
Brand new front door handle units installed at time of respray, with handles painted in Nighthawk Black.
PPF door guards and rear bumper boot lip also PPF protected.
Brand new, factory Honda, fuel filler and flap assembly fitted recently, as the old seal was a cause of water ingress. Honda Aluminium filler cap also fitted, painted in Nighthawk Black.
18" Lenzo D1R 5 spoke alloy wheels, gloss black with polished rim. Mint condition and never curbed, fitted with Michellin Pilot Sport 4 tyres fitted on all 4 corners. Good tread depth on front and brand new at rear.
TGR internal drive 2 piece wheel nuts.
Black Gloss rear vinyl applied to rear centre light cluster, to complete the Silver/Gloss Black theme i was looking for.
New rear H emblem and Type R badge on boot lid.
Main performance upgrades :
Stage 1 remap completed by Avon Tuning the first year i owned it. Better fuel economy and smoother V-Tec engagement have been the result, Insurance not affected as it was not more than a 10% increase in power, but feels far more than that and drives much better compared to standard mapping.
Smoothed out air box with K&N Filter plus RamAir red silicone intake pipe. Setup gives best possible air flow without changing the engine bay too much from standard. This was my vision throughout the car really, subtle upgrades that improve the car in some way, without taking away from the original look and styling.
M-Factory Helical LSD - Racepack 1, supplied and fitted at Dynodaze by Danny and the guys.This has transformed the way the car handles and grips the road, especially out of corners. It is the one single most noticeable upgrade i made, wishing i had done it sooner once i felt the benefits. Torco gearbox oil recently changed - invoices to show.
New performance clutch was also fitted at the same time as the LSD, also by Dynodaze. Both of the above items were only fitted approx' 2 years ago. Braided hose clutch bypass line also fitted.
TEGIWA full short shift modification fitted. It is a genuine Honda unit that is modified and sold by TEGIWA themselves. It reduces gear throws by 40% and makes a huge difference for those "quick shift" moments.
Motul RBF 660 fluid for clutch and brake fluid was recently changed within the last 12 months also.
Full suspension upgrade including new SACHS shocks, top mounts, bump stops. TIEN progressive springs and upgraded MEYLE drop links also fitted. Handling is absolutely amazing now, plus the ride is far more comfortable than the standard set up from Honda, which was known to be harsh and "crashy" on bumpy roads. This car is far more comfortable now for day to day use, smoother and more compliant with bumps and potholes. The main reason is because the progressive springs remain softer at slow speed, but firm up significantly as speed increases. It is a perfect balance between comfortable daily driver and sporty spirited driver, depending on your mood a the time.
Recent full brake system refresh including refurbished and painted brake calipers all round, also including brand new EBC slotted discs and EBC Red Stuff brake pads. Stainless Steel braided hoses are also fitted. Stopping power has been significantly improved, compared to the standard hardware.
Front and rear POWERFLEX anti roll bar and rear beam bushes fitted.
TEGIWA subframe rigid collars fitted.
Custom Stainless Steel exhaust back box, made by Infinity exhausts for the sound i wanted. Sensible sound but more fitting for the car than standard, which was too quiet. Absolutely no droning sound on motorway driving, as i specifically requested, as that is where most of my mileage has come from over the years.
Finally to clarify that the internal engine components have never been touched or upgraded. I believe this is what has kept the car being so incredibly reliable, but still being fun and enjoyable when the mood takes you. Valve clearances need to be checked every 25,000 miles, so these are the only times the engine has been opened. As all other aspects of the car have been refurbished or upgraded, this may be something the next owner may wish to focus on.
Interior modifications :
Full Kenwood entertainment system including : Touchscreen double din head unit with Android Auto & Apple Car Play - DAB radio - Bluetooth. Integrated Kenwood Dash Cam and Reverse Camera. Kenwood slim under seat Subwoofer and upgraded JL Audio speakers all round. The combined system gives the inside of the car a much newer feel, along with a fantastic sound system, great picture quality with the dash cam and reverse camera, helping to avoid any unwanted scratches on the faultless paintwork.
Other extras are the SKUNK 2 weighted gear knob, which adds ease to gear changes and compliments the short shifter supplied by TEGIWA. I have also had a genuine Honda leather gear gaiter fitted, which remains in mint condition like everything else.
Recent custom flat bottom steering wheel has been added, designed and fitted by Brothers Custom Steering Wheels. It's a more modern take on the original steering wheel, but the work is stunning and it feels as good as it looks. It could easily pass as something that has always been with the car and the flat bottom looks awesome, gives more leg clearance and feels very race like when taking corners.
New full set of JDM custom floor mats also recently fitted, with also lots of detail and barely even set foot on.
All interior lights have been upgraded to LED, with red mood lighting in the front foot-wells as standard.
Brushed aluminium details around air vents, tweeters and cigarette lighter. Easily removed if not to your own taste, but they add a little extra detail and do not look tacky.
In the boot area there is a brand new, unused, genuine Honda space saver spare wheel, purchased separately as they did not come with the car as new. Purchased from Cox Motor Parts, as with many of the genuine Honda parts i have replaced. All original Honda Jack and tools will be supplied with the car, along with the Honda tyre inflation system and First Aid Kit and several other bits and pieces that i either haven't got round to fitting, or a spare.
I have an additional Thatcham Approved Immobiliser professionally fitted for extra security, courtesy of Automotive Control, with Certificate.
There is much more i could tell you about what has been done to the car, much of it being preventative maintenance like PCV valve and Auxillary Belt replacement, but ads can only be so long! Anyone serious about buying it will find i am happy to tell them anything they want to know about every single nut and bolt i have replaced since owning it, but i will save that for the viewing!
This truly is one of the best examples of an FN2 you will ever see, or drive, cosmetically or mechanically, which is why it is a little higher than the average current prices. I believe it is worth it because of it's low mileage and condition, so have full confidence that whoever buys it will be as happy as i am with it, as it needs absolutely no work whatsoever done. This car deserves an enthusiast that loves the car the way i have for so many years. As mentioned, i have over £30,000 worth of receipts to show the journey this car has made since 2017, and i will be truly gutted to see it go.
If the description of my car finds an FN2 fan, or maybe someone looking at them for the first time, they will find a very practical, spacious, reliable car, for day to day running, that can turn into a fast, exciting, great handling sports car with just a firmer press on the accelerator if the mood takes you and you love the sound of V-Tec!
