1995 BMW M3

BMW built 306 left-hand drive motorsport homologation M3 GT’s to be sold on the continent, with just 50 right hand drive cars built for the UK market.

The power output of the 50 UK GT’s was slightly less than the Euro cars, however they still received the same chassis & suspension upgrades as the Euro cars as well as the adjustable Class II homologation front splitter, BMW M strut brace, taller rear wing, 17” BMW Motorsport forged & polished alloy wheels and lighter aluminium doors. All 50 cars were finished in British Racing Green, with Mexico green leather, part Alcantara seats, carbon / graphite birdseye maple dash, console & glove box trim and BMW Motorsport badging throughout.

UK-spec or not, the M3 GT is without doubt rarest E36 available.

THIS CAR:

This UK M3 GT, car number 47 is now available for sale after the recent completion of a full chassis, mechanical and cosmetic restoration at a classic BMW specialist over the past 12 months.

Some of the key work carried out included:

- Full gearbox strip and rebuild using Gear Repair kit 23 21 1 224 908 & new seals

- New clutch pack.

- Differential stripped, blasted and rebuilt with new seals etc.

- Full engine inspection and freshen up.

- Complete chassis strip down including fuel tank.

- Removal and refurbishment of all suspension and drivetrain parts, blasted and powder coated.

- New Powerflex bushes throughout.

- Underside fully stripped to metal, zinc primed and refinished in corrosion resistant coating.

- New heat shields, arch liners & trim panels fitted throughout car.

- New shaft CV boots fitted.

- Cam cover, inlet manifold and plenum bead blasted and refinished in correct crackle finish.

- All brackets, shims & fasteners refinished throughout.

- All engine belts, pulleys & hoses replaced with new genuine.

- Fuel, air, oil, coolant and pollen filters all replaced with new genuine.

- Radiator replaced with new genuine item.

- New Vac unit & idle control valve fitted

- All new brake hoses (6) fitted and brake fluid replaced.

- Front & Rear brake calipers stripped, re plated and rebuilt with new pistons, seals etc.

- Full Beissbath geometry set completed after build.

- Interior fully retrimmed to OE spec with the correct colour and finish to match to the Mexico green leather and genuine Alcantara.

- Headlining and door cards retrimmed.

- New genuine 'GT' front splitter fitted

- New genuine floor mats, door shut ‘BMW Motorsport’ kick plates, and many other genuine parts throughout.

- New bonnet catches fitted.

- Wheels polished and fitted 5 new Michelin PS4 tyres.

All work is fully documented and photographed.

This GT was also previously subject to a thorough rebuild and bare metal repaint by a previous owner a number of years ago including a full engine rebuild using new BMW parts throughout including a new cylinder head and internal parts, invoices totalling nearly £40, 000.

The GT was main featured in Total BMW magazine following this work, included in the cars history file.

This GT comes with original supplying dealership key fob, window sticker and plates, full tool kit, glove box torch, first aid kit, all original tyre changing equipment, original handbooks and leather wallet and a personalised bound history folder packed with documents from 2006.

Sitting on brand new Michelin tyres and with MOT until June 2026 and having only covered road test mileage since work completed this year, this ultra-rare E36 M3 GT is absolutely pristine and mechanically perfect, ready to be driven or added to a collection.
