Description
• An impressive modern performance car with very low mileage; 1 of only 1,801 produced and 1 of only 7 believed to be in the UK. Build No #312.
• It is powered by a naturally aspirated, dry sump LS7 7.0-litre V8 with 505bhp, hand-assembled at GM’s Bowling Green Performance Build facility in Kentucky by Mike Priest; coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.
• Delivered new to the USA in 2015, it was brought into the UK in 2016 with 432 miles showing. A clean CARFAX report evidences that this was a single owner car in the US.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
• The Z/28 was only available in Red Hot, Summit White, Ashen Gray, Silver Ice, and Black, with this car finished in the latter. All cars came with a black interior.
• Air-conditioning and a stereo were the only options from the factory, and both are fitted to this car. Cruise control, Bluetooth, and five-stage traction/stability control were all standard fitment.
• It represents an engineering ‘tour de force’ from the Chevrolet Performance Division; with the use of specialist parts such as Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brake discs and mono-block callipers, Multimatic DSSV dampers, forged wheels, Recaro seats, and a six-speed Tremec TR6060 manual gearbox with gearbox and diff cooler.
• The differences are not just skin deep. The exhaust differs from the base V8 Camaro in that the tubing increased from 2.5” to 2.75”, reducing back pressure by 26%. The car is fitted from the factory with a cold air intake, carbon bonnet vent, Torsen limited-slip differential, and removal of sound-deadening material, thinner glass etc. Even the boot carpet was omitted (Although retrofitted to this car).
• The alloy wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres.
• A bundle of invoices and paperwork accompany the car, including the build sheet, service invoices, original VAT and import duty invoices, service book and owner’s manual, together with spare keys.
CONDITION
• Stunning condition with PPF having been applied from new.
• Its 19-inch forged wheels present in a highly original state, even to the point that the factory bead blasting is still visible on the inside edge of the wheel. This was added to stop slippage of the tyres, as it was found that during spirited circuit laps in testing, the vast torque could rotate them more than 360 degrees per lap.
• Its interior shows little to no wear, commensurate with the very low mileage.
• The original plastic interior floor coverings are still in place, protected with floor mats.
• The most recent MOT test was on 14th June 2025 at 9,530 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no warnings or defects. In fact, the car has always passed at the first attempt and with no advisories.
• Documented service history with the most recent being 6th September 2025 which included an oil and filter replacement, with renewal of the brake fluid and clutch fluid.
• Notably in December 2019 at 5,265 miles SB Race Engineering updated the LS7 cylinder heads to the well-known and proven ‘American Heritage Performance Package 4’, at a cost of nearly £5,000.
• I have owned this Z28 for four years, always kept in a heated dehumidified garage and never driven in the rain.
This Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a remarkable modern muscle car of the type that will likely never be seen again. Top Gear magazine said that the Z/28 was “plain wonderful”, adding, “you hammer forwards, the engine pounding and trumpeting, the traction immense, the whole car alive and throaty. No matter how old you are or how sniffy about its track credentials, there’s something captivating about the Z/28”. This car presents with low enough mileage to remain in superb condition throughout, but not so low that the next owner will feel guilty about driving it as intended.
