The Peugeot 205 GTi, originally launched in 1984 is still known for being one of the most iconic hot hatches of all time. Being successful in both circuit racing and rallying ever since. This non-sunroof car was originally a 1.6 chassis but has been modified for fast road use and now features and Mi16 conversion. Sadly the current owner passed away recently and left the car to his partner and so we have limited information on its history. The owner and his friend had built the car to their required spec over the past few years and have created a fast and useable French hatch for the road.

The car features a fast road N/A Mi16 engine said to produce 200bhp. It features forged pistons, forged h section con rods, polished and ported cylinder head, Kent fast road cams, baffled sump and twin 45 Webbers. The engine was professional built by a local racing firm. The spec also includes twin cooling fan conversion, new fuel pump, filters and pressure reg valve, AFR and gauge, 1.6 GTi gearbox, Bilstein suspension, front strut brace, fibreglass bonnet, 306 GTi6 front brakes, fast road pads and braided brake lines. The 1.9 GTi wheels are fitted with Nankang AR1’s with plenty of tread.

The car runs and drives well for something that is now 34 years old and only shows a small amount of body wear with some age-related marks and scratches. The plastics could also do with bringing back to life a bit. With a fresh MOT in June, it can be used and enjoyed but will still need some fettling on weekends to created a superb example.

The car comes with a couple of sets of keys including one set of door locks that require fitting. There is nearly no paperwork which has proven hard to find since the gentleman’s passing but a V5C is present. He left a description of the car and its spec before he passed hence, we have an idea of its current modifications. We have additional images available upon request as well as a walk around video.
