1972 TRIUMPH TR6

Originally a dry-state Texas car, imported to the UK in the late 1990s and converted to RHD and petrol injection. Approximately 19k miles since import. Strong motor with a hotter cam, feels ~150 bhp. Starts easily, pulls hard and cruises happily; overdrive engages cleanly.

Drivetrain

2.5L straight-six with performance cam, PI injection.

4-speed “saloon” gearbox with overdrive (gear-knob switch) - OD in (gears 3rd/4th).

High-pressure release plate/clutch; smooth take-up.

Clutch fluid replaced with silicone (Master and Slave replaced).

New wheelbarrow Moss exhaust system fitted in 2024.

Body & chassis

Super-clean bodywork; underside very tidy/solid with no rust (a few cosmetic grimy/flat spots).

Solid sills/floors/trailing arms etc.

Electrical & lighting

Full LED conversion for visibility: custom rear LED boards (brake/indicator/tail), LED main/dip/side in front housings.

Original bowls and parts included; wiring for LEDs run separately - factory loom unmolested, easily reversible.

Green LED dash lamps; under-bonnet lighting for night roadside work, thankfully not needed in anger.

Interior & audio (reversible)

Custom Android Auto head unit with small amp; speakers discreetly in tunnel/parcel shelf + compact sub behind passenger seat.

All installs are non-permanent and can be removed without trace.

Hardtop

Factory steel hardtop included (currently yellow; from another car).

Glass and rubbers excellent; fitting hardware and spars present; no headliner.

Maintenance & history

Regularly maintained by me and TRGB (who supplied the car 5 years ago.

New Tyres all round in 2020.

Stored indoors and or covered when away.

Spares & extras

Original headlight bowls, side indicator lenses, and any removed parts included.

The drive

Tight, tractable and quick for a TR6, cammed six with proper PI bark, positive gearchange, and relaxed OD cruising. Viewings welcome; Cold-start and drive videos available on request.
