⭕ VEHICLE SUMMARY
A true British classic and a machine that laid the foundation for Norton’s post-war success.
The Norton Model 7 stands as a significant milestone in British motorcycling history, representing Norton’s first venture into vertical twin-engine design. Developed in collaboration with renowned engineer Bert Hopwood, the Model 7 laid the groundwork for the legendary Dominator series that followed. Powered by a 500cc parallel twin, it offered a smoother and more refined riding experience compared to the single-cylinder machines of the time, while still maintaining the reliability and robust build Norton was known for.
With its elegant, flowing lines, teardrop fuel tank, and purposeful stance, the Model 7 carries all the hallmarks of classic British design from the post-war era. Built to perform just as well on winding country roads as it did commuting through city streets, the Model 7 quickly earned a reputation as a practical yet stylish motorcycle. Today, it remains a valued piece of motorcycling history – admired not only for its engineering significance but also for its timeless design and rewarding ride.
Sadly this particular example comes to market from a deceased estate after long family ownership - it's clear to see it's been treated well over its ownership, however, the inheriting members of the family aren't mechanically minded, and as such have not been able to start the bike, or find help to recommission it, therefore, it will be sold as a non-running project.
