EXTERIOR

There aren’t many vehicles that command presence like the infamous G Wagon and this is quite possibly the wildest variant of the time – the Brabus G620.

Fitted with a Widestar conversion front and rear aprons are extended to meet gigantic wheel arch box flares that extend an incredible 5 inches beyond the factory location – necessary to house the 23 (!) inch Monobloc wheels. There are also bespoke door panels for design continuity from the front quarter ‘vents’. In traditional Brabus fashion various badging and branding is adorned throughout to leave no passer by unsure as to the model designation.

The rear quarter flares are also fitted with LED lighting that illuminates when the car is remotely unlocked or a door handle pulled.

Condition around the car is superb and with no discernible blemishes this bespoke example is a real brute.

INTERIOR

The cabin space is an elegant combination of diamond quilted leather, carbon fibre inlays and aluminium detail. Quality of materials used is second to none and considering the age and mileage the space has survived remarkably well. Brabus detail is more subtle here, with side sills and mats bearing the tuning firm’s branding, whilst an alcantara branded wheel and headlining set the model apart. Red stitching throughout offers contrast and class.

All of the tech of the traditional Mercedes has been carried over so all mod cons are present to ensure comfort and connectivity are not compromised. A power sunroof allows a little more light and cool cruising capability.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

In its R&D workshop in Bottrop, Germany, the Brabus technicians developed the PowerXtra module. The black box is integrated into the engine electronics altering boost, fuel and timing curves. Unlike typical software programming, the G63’s ECU is untouched so that factory ECU upgrades won’t alter the original coding.

Along with intercooler mods, the B63-620 conversion now produces 620hp at 5750rpm and 604 lb-ft at 2000rpm. An adjustable by-pass valve is available on the stainless steel exhaust and needless to say acoustics are absolutely epic.

The brutal power is harnessed by an all wheel drive system, complimented by differential locks, alongside the excellent 7G – Tronic ‘box.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

Whopping 23×11 Platinum Edition Brabus Monobloc F wheels are forged wearing 305/35 R23 Yokohama Advan tyres with a strengthened carcass to handle the 620’s substantial weight.

AMG have always been strong with braking systems and the hardware used here is in excellent health and a good match for the performance available.

Suspension is also revamped to deal with the extra load. The tuning firm’s ‘Ride Control’ uses uprated springs and electronically controlled Bilstein dampers via Comfort or Sport settings. The system actively monitors load parameters and will modify the dampers accordingly.

HISTORY FILE

First registered in Sweden in 2012, this spectacular G Wagon has in fact spent the majority of its life in London with Brabus entrusted to perform a full conversion to G620 specification in 2014.

Subsequently the car has been serviced by the main dealer on 5 occasions up to 2019 before a Brabus PowerXtra performance kit was installed by Bob Forstner – uprating output to 618 bhp and a monstrous 820 Nm of torque.

The last Service B was carried out by Hedin Automotive at Mercedes – Benz World in December of 2024 prior to an Aircon radiator and full fluids change with a specialist in March of 2025.

The car is offered with comprehensive MOT history and original Mercedes-Benz service invoices alongside the receipt for the aforementioned performance kit.
