Here at Premier GT we are delighted to present to you this 2024 (74) Ariel Atom 4 R, that has covered 2,005 miles from new with 1 owner from new.

The 4R takes everything that made the standard Atom 4 (which was already an exhilarating enough) and cranks it, unapologetically, to eleven. At its core is a 320bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre Honda Type R engine, now treated to an uprated ECU, better turbos and race-grade cooling to produce a frankly wild 400bhp.

The engineering underneath is pure Ariel. Bespoke Öhlins TTX dampers with external reservoirs, custom wishbones, and an aero package that’s less about theatre and more about downforce that genuinely works at real-world speeds. Plus, there’s even traction control now.

The new paddle-shift Sadev sequential gearbox slices through ratios with a brutal efficiency. Every shift is a jolt of mechanical theatre—loud, instant, and utterly addictive. It’s the sort of setup you’d expect in a GT3 Cup car, but somehow, Ariel has made it work in something you could feasibly take on a B-road blast.

Turn-in is so immediate it borders on absurd. The steering is unassisted and naturally is filled with a clarity that makes most supercars feel slow. Feedback isn’t just present, it’s overwhelming, in the best possible sense. You don’t so much drive the 4R as you negotiate with it. It rewards bravery and precision.

Visually, it’s as bonkers as ever. Tubes, wings, exposed suspension arms, and an aesthetic that could only be described as “function over absolutely everything else.” And that’s exactly the point. This is not a car for the faint-hearted. It’s a car for the devout, and for those who believe that driving should be a sensory overload.
