Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six, the Dakar produces 473 bhp and 570 Nm of torque, coupled with a quick-shifting eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It sprints from 0–62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, while top speed is limited to 149 mph, a figure determined by the bespoke Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres, engineered for durability, grip, and versatility across all surfaces.

Unique to the Dakar is a suspension lift system that raises ride height by up to 80 mm over a standard Carrera, delivering SUV-rivalling ground clearance while preserving Porsche’s signature handling precision. This feature is usable at speeds of up to 105 mph. Complementing it are two Dakar exclusive driving modes, Rallye and Offroad, designed to optimise performance on loose and challenging terrain, supported by Rallye Launch Control for maximum traction. In addition, the model retains Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus modes for everyday road use, ensuring the Dakar is as versatile on tarmac as it is off-road.

Also standard on the Dakar are Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), rear-axle steering, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), and PTV Plus, working in conjunction with an electronically controlled rear differential lock with fully variable torque distribution.
