1989 Lancia Delta Integrale 8v Kat – Enthusiast-Owned, Superb Condition, Huge History File

Offered for sale is my 1989 Lancia Delta Integrale, a car I’ve owned and cherished for the last ten years. It’s now showing 70k miles (112k km, with only around 6k km covered in my ten years of ownership).

It’s an 8v Kat model (so looks identical to the 16v car, but has higher low down torque and a more linear delivery than the 16v).

The car has been maintained meticulously and used sparingly — always garaged, rarely driven in winter, and kept in excellent mechanical order. It comes with an extensive history file dating back decades, including service invoices, MOTs, old tax discs, and parts receipts.

The car was delivered new to Germany in 1989 (Both the standard Delta handbook and the Integrale handbook are with you car - both are in German). It was imported to the UK and registered here in 2000. The previous owner (to me) lived in Northern Ireland. He bought the car in around 2008 and completed a full restoration of the car, finishing up in around 2014. I bought the car in 2015.

During my ownership it has benefited from regular maintenance and preventative work. Over that period I’ve spent around £10k (mostly with Auto Integrale, near Reading). This has included regular servicing, staying on top of any bodywork issues (bodywork is now excellent) and, over a period of years, fixing the long list of niggles from when I bought the car. This has included a refresh of the electrics - in particular, all of the dashboard lights now work perfectly, including door sensors, etc - something that I think is rare to find on an 80s Italian car!

The car has also had fresh belts, new tyres and a top-end rebuild in recent years, so should be ready for many years and miles of solid use! It remains in largely original specification, retaining its period details and the authentic feel that makes these cars so special.

The car drives exactly as an Integrale should — tight, responsive, and immensely engaging. Turbo boost is strong, the gearbox and clutch are smooth, and the chassis delivers that trademark rally-bred balance.

This is an honest, enthusiast-owned example of a fast-appreciating classic, with the history and condition to back it up. A perfect car for someone who wants to drive and enjoy one of the great homologation icons without fear of hidden stories or neglect.

If I was keeping the car, the next jobs I’d do would be focussed on the cosmetics: the paintwork is all fine, but showing some areas of dullness; some of the black panels (and the roof rails) could do with repainting; I’ve bought (but not yet fitted) a new boot badge; I’ve always quite liked (but never bought) a boot/roof spoiler. The car needs for nothing mechanically.

I’m only selling as I just don’t use the car enough. I bought a GR Yaris as my everyday car in 2021 and haven’t really done many miles in the Lancia since then.

I’m based in Bath, any view or inspection is welcome. I’ve priced the car at what I believe is a sensible price for a quick sale. I see plenty of cars for sale at the £35k level - while some of them may be more cosmetically perfect, many of them do not have the level of mechanical maintenance that this car has had.

My honest summary of the state of the car would be: mechanically perfect and ready to drive on any adventure; looks amazing from 10 yards; on closer inspection the paintwork is showing some patina.
