2002 BMW M5

The time has come for me to part ways and sell my pride and joy. I Have owned the car since December 2015 and have had many years of enjoyment owning such an incredible car.

These cars have always been renowned to be one of the best driver salons every made with the amazing S62 engine which has plenty of power and torque even by today’s standards, coupled with a manual transmission to really give you a sense of connection between you and the car, allowing you to take full control of the 394bhp that the car has to offer. It’s no wonder that these cars are considered a modern classic.

This car comes in a fairly rare and absolutely stunning straight black colour known as Jet Black or Schwarz II and has full black leather with ostrich inserts. The seats have been regularly maintained with leather treatment and protection to keep them nice and supple and prevent any wear from developing.

Since owning the car, I have spent a lot of time and money on maintaining and uprating the car to the fine example that it is today.

The car has full service history and has been mostly maintained by a BMW main dealer or BMW specialist prior to my ownership.

Since owning the car, I have carried out extensive in-depth maintenance works and have lots of invoice and images of the car throughout any works that have been done.

I have always liked the idea of keeping the car as close to standard as possible whilst upgrading certain parts that would only increase its level of performance as to how the vehicle should have left the factory.

These upgrades include:

• Genuine BMW performance brake conversion kit on the front with braided brake hoses.

• Bilstein B8 shock absorbers with 30mm lowering Intrax springs all round which allows the car to sit perfectly whilst not compromising the ride. With this set up the car can be enjoyed comfortably on a long journey or around town whilst also allowing you to confidently push the car along any winding open road.

• All front suspension arms have been replaced and have had uprated road series Powerflex bushes fitted giving a much more responsive feel to the steering. Along with front anti roll bar bush upgrades.

• The car has a square set up with all genuine style 65 alloys that are fitted with Michellin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all round which all have lots of tread depth. I also have a spare style 65 front wheel which I kept in the boot for long journeys in case of any punctures.

• The previous owner upgraded the vehicles sound system with all new door speakers and sub-woofer in the rear of the car which are all run off a Rockford Fosgate amplifier which has been concealed in the boot to maintain a standard look to the interior. This is all controlled with a Dynavin-N7 head unit which was designed to look like the original unit but with all the modern connectivity’s allowing Bluetooth audio from your smartphone, and still allowing use of all the steering wheel controls.

Throughout my ownership I have carried out a huge amount of maintenance works to get the car back up to an amazing mechanical standard with lots of invoice and images to show.

• I removed the rear axle and replaced all the rear subframe / suspension and differential bushes.

• Replace all metal brake pipes and fuel lines from front to rear of the car using genuine parts alongside uprated braided hoses also on the rear.

• New propshaft donut / centre c.v joint and centre bearing with all genuine parts.

• Differential oil change using Castrol Syntrax Limited slip 75w-140 oil.

• Whilst the rear axle / propshaft / fuel tank and all heat shields were removed the underside was rubbed back, protected and undersealed.

• The car had a new clutch fitted in 2016 at 113k miles. At this point I also fitted the E60 short shifter upgrade which gives for a much nicer gear change.

• It has also had a new starter motor and A.C pump fitted.

• The steering inner and out tie rods and main steering set up have all been replaced using all genuine parts.

• The front windscreen had a few stone chips when I first got the car so I had it replaced using a genuine windscreen.

• The car comes with 3 Keys.

• I have most of the standard parts that I have replaced over the years which will come as part of the sale.

The car was always run on Castrol 10w-60 oil until the last few oil changes which I changed over to Millers EE Performance 10w-60 to help maintain the longevity of the engine. It has uprated K&N panel filters fitted which allow you to further enjoy the intake sounds as you apply the power.

The car has been run on Shell V-power by both myself and the previous owner.

Bodywork wise the car is in amazing condition and totally rush free having had all the sills and jacking points replaced in 2022 along with some works around the rear arches.

The paintwork has been regularly detailed and ceramic coated to help protect it and give the full effect of the amazing deep colour.

I have collected an extensive ablum of images since owning the car which I will share with the new owner to show the history of a lot of the works that have been carried out.

I am very reluctantly looking to part ways with this amazing car but as I am no long able to drive and enjoy it in the way it should be (hence the lack of mile over the last few years).

So, I feel it is now the right time for the car to have a new owner that can drive and enjoy the car in the same way I have over my 10 years of ownership.
