A truly phenomenal purpose-built 911 which has a proven history as a thoroughly enthralling track day or fast-road Porsche….

Aggressively light-weighted to less than 1000kg, powered by its standard 3.0 litre engine but mated with period-correct competition specification Weber carburettors. Further developed with Carrera 3.2 brake discs front and rear, Boxster callipers on the front and Castrol SRF racing fluid, RSL29 Pagid Racing brake pads (for zero brake fade), Bilstein dampers front and rear, limited slip differential, WEVO gear shifter, stainless-steel exhaust system, twin coils, Toyo Proxes high-performance tyres (plus, a full second set of Toyo road wheels and tyres), and all-important Mark Donoghue CanAm-inspired door graphics.

The car (after a Cat C insurance marker in 1990) was bespoke built in 2012 to the specification of the gentleman selling the car now. The body restoration is truly impressive with many images to show what was done, and the standard that has been achieved. The final colour was chosen from the 1957-1959 Porsche 356 colour palette, called Stone Grey. The approach to maintenance has been, let’s say, “enthusiastic”, but our vendor tells us wholeheartedly the costs have always been quickly forgiven for the sheer driving pleasurer he’s been able to derive.

Despite presenting very attractively and in a condition that most anyone would be proud to own, this car hasn’t been a trailer queen with several trips into Europe and numerous track days enjoyed. Indeed, its only really on track that you could get reasonably close to maximum output from this car, with some 220bhp, good for 141mph top speed. Remember, she weighs less than a tonne and is on slippery tyres… (Beware in the wet…. You’ve been warned).

In summary; “Proper!” …Do yourself a favour and come to see for yourself. You’ll not be disappointed. Oh, and do it in the warming comfort that were you to try and repeat this car today, you’ll easily have to invest upward of £100,000 to get even close to this car….
