Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
The Jaguar E-Type Series I.5 2+2 was introduced in 1966, combining the model’s legendary performance with added comfort and space. This late 1967 example, supplied new by Henly’s of Manchester, features the open headlights, reclining seats and revised dashboard typical of the unofficial 'Series I.5'
Originally finished in Opalescent Silver Blue, it was repainted red during its earlier restoration and fitted with flared wheel arches front and rear, giving the car a look reminiscent of the later Series 3 V12
Powered by the 4.2-litre straight-six engine paired with an automatic gearbox, the E-Type 2+2 offered smooth performance and grand touring capability, making it the preferred long-distance choice within the range
Supplied new to a UK-based oil industry executive who exported it to the Middle East before returning with the car in 1979. It then passed to its second and third owners in Wales, the latter acquiring it in 1984 with 58,600 miles. Now showing 72,200 miles, believed to be genuine
Restored during the second owner’s tenure by Ken Hall Vintage of Stoke-on-Trent and maintained over the years by long-term enthusiast owners
Partially converted from 2+2 to Coupé configuration by a later owner before the project stalled, and now forming part of a private collection, this E-Type is offered as a worthwhile restoration project and is available without reserve
Transmission: Auto
