Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
The Standard Eight was effectively a pre-war ‘Flying Eight’ reintroduced in 1945, featuring a 4-speed gearbox and positioned by Standard against period rivals such as the Austin 8 and Morris Eight at a competitive £314 when new
Partially restored by its long-term second owner, with finishing work completed by the current keeper, a retired technician who has cared for the car since 2011
This example presents attractively with its classic post-war styling, finished with a recently fitted new hood and period-correct detailing throughout
Powered by a 1,021cc long-stroke four-cylinder engine producing 28bhp, driving through a 4-speed manual gearbox, providing simple, enjoyable open-top motoring
Accompanied by its original logbook, a Pittmans Book of The Standard and an original owner’s manual
A well-preserved and appealing example representing excellent value and an ideal entry point into post-war British classics
