With only 600 units produced, the BMW M3 Sport Evolution is the most powerful and most extensively upgraded model in the E30 series, making it highly sought after among classic car enthusiasts.

The engine displacement of the Sport Evolution increased from 2.3 to 2.5 liters with the S14B25 EVO3 specification inline four-cylinder engine. Other enhancements also included oil-cooled pistons, a more aggressive camshaft, larger inlet valves, and sodium-filled exhaust valves. These enhancements resulted in 238 bhp at 7,000 rpm, a 0-100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds. The Sport Evolution also featured an adjustable front splitter and rear wing, allowing for customization based on driving style. The bumpers were more aerodynamic, and brake-cooling ducts replaced the fog lights; the suspension was also lowered by 10 mm. Weight was reduced by removing grab handles and the map reading light, as well as by utilizing a smaller fuel tank, a lighter boot, rear side windows, and bumpers.

Delivered new in Germany, this example remained there for around 8 years before being imported to the United Kingdom.
