Overview
Whatever Audi’s engineers were eating, drinking or otherwise ingesting during the 00’s, we’d quite like to have some, as it clearly led to a wonderful kind of madness and delirium that made putting a twin-turbocharged V10 engine into its C6-era RS6 seem like a good idea. Here was a supercar-humbling, sub 5-second family car that would humble cars with significantly higher price tags, far more prestigious badges, and much less practicality.
Sensible? Perhaps not. Headline grabbing? Certainly.
The C6 RS6 was Audi’s response to BMW’s howling V10 M5, and Mercedes-Benz’ snarling E63 AMG. Benefitting from all-wheel drive thanks to Audi’s well-established Quattro system with a torque-biasing Torsen centre differential, this was a true everyday supercar that would fly under-the-radar to all but those that truly knew what they were looking at. Remove the subtle RS6 badges, and you’d practically blend into traffic, especially in an unmodified example such as this. In fact, our own Nic Cackett summed up the C6’s low-key styling perfectly back in September 2020, stating “de-badge the boot lid, and an Anglican vicar could arrive at Sunday mass without drawing significant comment!”
Whilst the party piece was under the bonnet, the interior benefitted from being designed and built during what many would regard as Audi’s peak design era, meaning it has aged fantastically well not just in terms of styling, but also in terms of quality and resilience to years of use.
This particular example has been in the care of the current owner for [INSERT HERE] and has been looked after by the supplying specialist cars dealership, most notably having recently had the infamous coolant pipes replaced, which will be music to the ears of any potential bidders, as it means they won’t have to have this work carried out themselves (and yes, before you ask, it’s an engine-out job!)
If you’ve been trying to work out how to get yourself into an icon of the noughties without upsetting your partner/significant other, a V10 engine at the command of your right foot, or just fancy a family wagon with a little more wow-factor, then this is your answer.

Summary
Headline-stealing at the time of launch and still blisteringly quick and effortless by today’s standards, the C6 RS6 will go down in history as one of those wonderful ‘how on earth did this get approved?’ moments from Audi’s history; can you ever see them making another twin-turbo, V10-powered Avant? We can’t.
Finished in Phantom Black Pearl and in great order throughout, this example is mercifully standard throughout, meaning it is ideal for adding to a considered car collection, or as a smart purchase for those that like their cars to be exactly as the manufacturer intended.
