2001 (51 - September 2001) Mk5 Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6i Phase 2 FOR SALE

Where do I even start? I will probably get a lot of hate for listing this car for sale, as this car is quite well known within the Mk5 Community, but here we are. I am making room for a 997/991 GT3 or GTS.

This car comes with a 12 month MOT, as well as a history file that you’ll have to have a pallet truck to remove from my house, even down to its first tax discs in 2002.

The love that this car gets, both online and in person is phenomenal. No one has ever had a bad word to say about this car. The quote from the alignment specialist in 2025 was, “Its nice to see one of these with lots left underneath.”

BACKGROUND:

I first purchased this car in July 2018 from a chap in his 50s, who had had it from 3 years old, so I quickly became the third owner of this car as soon as I saw it. Upon which, I then daily drove this car for 2 years until I bought a BMW 335D where this car then became my weekend driving car. Since owning this fiesta, I have counted I have owned 8 other cars alongside it, consisting of many BMWs, as well as my current Mercedes C63. I have been so very attached to this car and it has been with me through 2 house moves, as well as a college, university and apprenticeship run about. I have owned this car for a combined total of around 6 years.

After a change of life circumstances, I sold this car in January 2021, where I was without it for around 18 months, when I picked it up again in August 2022 off of the same owner I sold it to. The chap had done 55 miles in it, which I found out was the mileage back to his house from mine.

I bought it back simply because I missed it, and simply because I could not find another one anywhere near the sentimental attachment I have with it, as well as the condition.

Now having it back for another 3 years, and tidying it up even further, I believe I have made it one of the best Mk5’s left in the country.

MECHANICAL:

This car is what I would consider as “OEM+.” If I had to put It back to standard for whatever reason, I could do it within a weekend. The basics are as follows:

IMPROVEMENTS REQUIRED:

I refuse to call this section “Bad Bits” as there really aren’t any major ones, so I will try and be as honest as I can. Below is a list I had left to do to the car:

- Drivers Door needs painting. There are some rust spots at the bottom of the door that will require attention

- Drivers Rear Arch. No rust bubbles, but I did clip a ramp in a garage with it on the way out around 2 years ago. This could be painted and blended at the same time as the drivers door.

- Underside Resto is virtually all that is missing from this car. Subframes could do with a refurb

- ARB Polybushes

- Engine and Gearbox Mount Polybushes

- Drivers Door card leather has started to come away near the window runner

- Id probably do the Cambelt and Water Pump again within the next year or two, because why not ..

- No spare wheel or carrier

- Passenger FRP Seat Bolster could do with some attention

- Steering wheel could do with a refurb to make it perfect

- AVO Coilover spares including Top Mounts

Please don’t throw me stupid offers, as I will simply just keep this in my garage. I am in no rush to sell, and if it doesnt sell in the short term, I will simply just leave it where it is, as I am so very attached to this car, and it deserves to go to the right enthusiast. It really is a one off car, so please come and see for yourself.
