Overview
Currently on to its fourth generation and still going great guns the BMW Z4 has been around since 2002, such is its inherent popularity and it's easy to see why these cars are so beloved. Handsome looks combined with engaging driving dynamics and impressive performance there's a lot to get excited about, and excitement is the operative word when it comes to the iconic M versions, in either coupe or roadster guise.
High performance models of the Z4, these cars – produced by the revered Motorsport division of the German giant – first hit the streets back in 2006 and quickly set the compact sports car market ablaze, but then that's a fairly simple task when you have the E46 M3's 343bhp S54 straight-six under the bonnet. The Z4 M was, and still is a car that demands your full attention every time you step behind that tactile, thick-rimmed leather steering wheel.
Following in the rather large footprints of the Z3 M, the Z4 M is a bit of a brute, despite those svelte, elegant lines. Free from all of the modern driver aids that can quickly rob a car of its character, the Z4 has but two get out of jail free options – traction control and stability control, but these can both be turned off at the touch of a button. Make no mistake, this is a driver's car through and through. Tap another one – Sport mode – to alter the engine map and the car feels even more alive with a sharper throttle response, really allowing you to hit that five second 0-60mph time before topping out at an electronically limited BMW standard 155mph.
This particular two previous keeper Z4 M coupe has been with the current owner for going on 15 years. This should tell you all you need to know about just how good these cars are and just how reluctant people are to move them on, such is their appeal, and it comes with decent service history and supporting invoices. A rather rare and clean car that presents well overall with freshly refurbished wheels it represents as a usable example with no major damage or corrosion to speak of.

Summary
A largely analogue beast, which is to its credit, the BMW Z4 M remains a truly exciting and engaging sports car and this 2007 coupe is no different. Good looking and built in limited numbers (just 4,275 M Coupes were made) they're becoming a a rare sight on the roads nowadays but will never fail to turn heads. What we have here then is a clean and usable example of one of BMW's best that's guaranteed to get the blood pumping.
