Overview
When it comes to late noughties super saloons everything can get a bit shouty, and German. Jaguar, however, decided to take a different approach with the high performance version of its venerable XF, going down a subtler route and even today it's difficult to discern the more raucous XFR from its diesel counterparts, which is a positive for those looking to be less obvious when it comes to their performance cars. Look closely, however and all of the XFR's glory shall be revealed.
Starting at the sharp end you'll find a whopping great 5.0-litre V8 which ordinarily would be enough but Jaguar went one step further and strapped a supercharger to it, boosting peak power to a frankly awe inspiring 503bhp and an equally impressive 461lb ft of torque that's available as early as 2,500rpm. Glorious.
Alongside the XFR's staggering performance (0-60mph in 4.7 seconds) there's also a reworked chassis with stiffer springs, active shocks with variable damping and an electronically controlled rear differential which meant the car handled well too. Add in a plush, fully loaded interior and wrap it all in an elegant, understated body and you get an incredibly alluring package.
This particular 2010 model is a superb example and comes complete with full service history backed up by a large collection of supporting invoices. Having covered just over 89K miles, which is less than 6,000 miles a year, the car presents in excellent condition throughout.
Anything this Jaguar XFR has wanted has seemingly been attended too, indicating an impressive level of care and attention, resulting in a very fine representation of the marque that has plenty left to give. One of Jaguar's best.

Summary
An arguably more subtle, gentlemanly alternative to the often brash offerings from the likes of BMW and Audi, Jaguar's XFR is without doubt a seriously fast car that handles as well as it goes. Fast and practical with dignified looks it provides all the thrills of a sports car with the everyday usability and comfort of a luxury saloon. Complete with that all-important comprehensive service history and in excellent overall condition this particular example is well worth considering.
