The Porsche 911 (992.1) Turbo S Cabrio

The 992.1 Turbo S Cabrio is the open-top version of the 911 model series before the facelift and is therefore the last non-hybrid Turbo. It is based on the eighth 911 generation, which has been built since 2019, while the Turbo S was launched in spring 2020. Even visually, the model clearly stands out from the Carrera variants. The body is wider, the rear wings stand out powerfully and the active aerodynamic elements such as the variable front spoiler and the extendable rear wing are consistently designed for downforce and stability at high speeds. The large air intakes at the rear are also typical of the Turbo S, supplying more fresh air to the intercoolers and the engine. The centrepiece is the 3.8-litre six-cylinder boxer engine with two turbochargers. In the Turbo S configuration, it delivers 650 hp and 800 Nm. Power transmission is handled exclusively by an eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch gearbox, coupled with permanent all-wheel drive. The interplay of engine, transmission and traction ensures that the convertible accelerates almost to coupé level despite the extra weight of the soft-top mechanism. Porsche states 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 330 km/h. This makes the model one of the fastest convertibles ever.

The chassis is a mixture of comfort and sharp precision. Adaptive dampers, rear axle steering and active roll stabilisation are on board as standard. These systems keep the car stable and neutral even under very high lateral acceleration, while remaining comfortable on the motorway or long journeys. The soft top opens and closes electro-hydraulically in around twelve seconds and can also be operated while travelling at speeds of up to around 50 km/h. It is well insulated when closed. When closed, it is well insulated and makes the Turbo S a genuine all-season vehicle. Inside, the 992.1 follows the modern Porsche line with a central rev counter, large infotainment system and high-quality materials. Despite its clear sports car orientation, the convertible offers two emergency seats in the rear, which often serve as additional storage in everyday life. The 992.1 Turbo S Cabrio is characterised by the apparent lightness with which it combines contradictory requirements. It is brutally fast, but not nervous. It is luxuriously equipped, but not cumbersome. What's more, as a convertible it offers a very intense driving experience without sacrificing the long-distance qualities typical of the Turbo. Overall, the model is considered one of the most complete 911s because it works across all scenarios, from the fast Alpine pass lap to the long motorway journey, always delivering that supreme, effortlessly powerful Turbo S feel.

The history of this convertible began on 3 November 2022 with an offer from the Porsche Centre Zug to the first and so far only owner of the vehicle. After a long wait, the car was completed on 22 April 2024 in the special colour fir green metallic over truffle brown leather. After the sales inspection on 14 May, the first delivery to the Swiss-based collector finally took place on 24 May. A few days later, the collector registered the 911 for the first time on 20 June 2024. Despite perfect conditions, he decided to place the vehicle in his impressive collection without ever having driven it, which is why it still has the mileage of the sales inspection of 25 km.
