1988 ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE

Presenting this fantastic Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack, in Cannock Black and Black leather interior. The car comes with a detailed history, with no expense spared. Renowned as Britain's first supercar and an all round Aston Martin Hand Built Classic.

The ​Aston Martin V8 Vantage was born in 1977 with an uprated V8, pushing power up to 390 bhp. Given the title of Britain's ‘First Supercar’ for hitting 170 mph, the car also featured as a Bond car in ‘The Living Daylights’. ​Aston produced an uprated engine pushing power up to 403 bhp for the Aston Martin V8 Zagato and the new 580X engine was offered for standard V8 Vantages, known as the X-Pack cars, with only 137 coupes produced.

​Manufactured in January 1988, this X-Pack car in black on black with the automatic gearbox and sunroof is 1 of 1. The car has been very well maintained, no expense spared and with a very well documented history. The car came to us in 2024, receiving an ignition and carb service to ensure the engine runs as it should.

The Connock Black paint presents beautifully, with only a few stone chips. ​​Inside, the black leather interior only features a few creases being in excellent condition for its age and mileage and the dash in high quality walnut features smiths dials and clock. The car is in great working order with the engine rebuilt in 2022 and the gearbox being replaced in 2011, ready for the next 100,000 miles. ​

The X580, 5.3 litre V8 engine makes a truly thunderous sound and a lovely deep burble. The 4 speed box helps to unlock more performance with power sent to the rear wheels. The car handles with great composure with its independent double wishbones front and De Dion rear axle and has excellent braking performance from discs all round. The car’s heavy steering is direct, providing great stability and feedback. The 16 inch Ronals are a lattice design in aluminium alloy. ​The tyres from Michelin Radical X Pilot Sports from 2021, are regarded for their performance and durability and are in very good condition.

The car comes with an extensive paperwork file and service book from 1995 onwards.
