Description
Sold by us in May 2023 to the current owner and coming in for sale in January! Introduced in 2004, The 997 represented a significant relaunch of the 911 that included a major body restyling and interior update, while using much of the rolling chassis of the outgoing 996. The 997 has all the technological improvements of its 996-series predecessor but with a lighter / stiffer body-shell, better suspension/brakes and a superior heating, ventilation and air conditioning system plus the more classical styling. Available in Carrera or Carrera S guises when launched, the latter boasted a more powerful 3.8 litre Boxer engine - rated at 350 bhp/295 lbs ft of Torque, a Sports Exhaust, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and 19-inch Alloy Wheels as standard. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds and 182mph, it soon became a driver's favourite. Better built and better looking than a 996 and smaller and more agile than a 991 or the current 992, fine examples of 997's are becoming increasingly collectible.
